Please move this thread if this is not the right place post it.

I am new to the forum and planning our first Disney world trip.
I have heard there are two sites that we can rent rooms from but not sure how exactly it all works and what’s the savings.

Can someone point me in the right direction. Looking to stay in the MK resort area.

I believe that the Timeshare Store also does rentals http://www.buydvcpoints.com/renting-dvc/rent-a-dvc-villa/

And then there’s the Rent/Trade Board here on the Disboards if you want to deal directly with a DVC owner. https://www.disboards.com/forums/dvc-rent-trade.29/ (You must be logged in to see this forum.)

DVC resorts in the MK area would be BLT, BRV, CCV, VGF and PVB.

Thank you for the link, is that the preferred store? I found another one called DVC reservations, not sure if one is better than the other.

Not sure, how the rent/trade board works, do I post that I am looking for a room?

I am sorry but what is BLT,BRV,CCV,VGF and PVB?

Bay Lake Tower, Boulder Ridge Villas, Copper Creek Villas, Villas Grand Floridian, and Polynesian Villas and Bungalows.

If this is your first trip to WDW, I would suggest going to David’s vacation rental website (DVC request) linked in a previous post and do a lot of reading on the site to see if renting points for a Vacation club villa is the right fit for your trip and if you have enough lead time to secure a reservation at the resort you want (usually 7-11 months out). If your trip will be in the next few months or you want flexibility for cancellations, you may want to book a hotel room or villa directly through Disney. Enjoy your trip!

I used Davids DVC rental before becoming an owner. Very simple process, BUT to get a higher demand resort, such as the MK area resorts, you would want to book close to 11 months out. Each company probably varies a little with rates and policies so you could research each. Cost would be significantly less than a similar room direct from Disney. Probably would work out to be a similar cost if you were to book a moderate resort.

Wherever you look, read the instruction first before you try to post anything. Some places your post will be deleted if it isn't formatted correctly or it is considered illegal. DVC bookings are not hotel rooms; they are timeshares and there are lots of rules to be aware of. Plus the opportunity of scammers to take your money.

For your first trip, you may want to book directly with Disney and learn about more as you go along. Especially if there is any chance you'll need to modify or cancel your reservation. You won't be able to do that with a DVC rental.

Cannot post what you're looking for, against the rules. You would look on the rent/trade board for someone renting points where you want to stay (for best availability). Then you pm the owner of the points. They will ask you questions required by Disney for your reservation.
