Just wondering where is best to book through Disney US Reservations or UK?

Where do most UK traveller book through? Any advantages to booking with US Central Reservations?

Last year with the strong £ it was better booking with .com now the $ is stronger most of us have booked with .co.uk but there are exceptions, to get free dining on .co.uk you have to buy a longer pass, 14(same price as 7) or 21. on .com you only have to buy a 1 day ticket.
Both routes have to be priced up, for our package (16 days OKW, DDP, 3 X 21 DAY tix) it cost £2,164 with .co.uk. On .com it was about £6,000 until they offered free DDP then it came down to about £4,000 still almost double .co.uk

Cancellation policy will be different, on .co.uk it is £50pp deposit which you lose if you cancel. Not sure what .com is.

I would imagine for most UK guests that the US site is more expensive due to the poor exchange rate. Also the UK site has had some really good offers/prices recently. As Wayne said, though, i'd still price up on both sites.

It depends on the trip and the offers on the US site. We booked our 7 night trip in March through the US as with the Buy4 get3 free deal it worked out cheaper than UK by just over £100.

I priced up both and went with the cheapest as we booked last minute (about 5 weeks before :scared1:) I knew I would have to pay in full at the time of booking so didn't have to worry about the exchange rates changing too much!

Highly confused!

I've tried to enter the .com site time and again yet the server on ly allows me to open the GB uk site. It knows that i'm a UK based connection and hasn't let me see US prices.

Am i missing something here?

DH and I booked our trip through .co.uk because we felt that the deals they were offering at the time were better. Plus it was only £100 deposit for us and we would rather pay in our own currency so we don't have to worry about the exchange rate going up and down as we pay it off.

.com was quite a bit more expensive for us, even with AAA discounts. It worked out about £150 more.

We are staying at POR for a week in December so aren't expecting any free dining offers, but if there are any offers released and they are better than the £100 we would lose on the deposit we will rebook.

Our best saving was renting DVC points for a week on the Boardwalk - massive saving!!

Last two trips I booked with US direct (had AP's so could use codes). I knew this year we'd be unlikely to get any for over July 4th period when we are there for Honeymoon. Plus with the exchange rate, it worked out a lot cheaper booking on .co.uk

Best thing is to shop around. Happy planning!

In Sep 08 we booked our feb 09 visit on US website. At that time with the exchange rate it was alot cheaper than UK site.

Later in 08 we managed to snag a 40% discount on our booking using a code that is only allowed to be allocated to bookings on US site. If we hadn't got that discount then due to the exchange rate we would have been paying the equivelent to UK site.

What we liked about booking via the US site was that we didn't have to pay up front apart from 1st night and that we could apply the discount codes.
