Does anyone have any Honeymoon ideas that are reasonably priced? We are getting married in June 2003 and need to find somewhere to honeymoon. WDW is not an option for us since we will be vacationing there at Christmas for 10 days. And we also don't won't Jamaica. (been there done that) Any ideas? We really need help on this.

Thanks to all!!!!::rolleyes:

What about a Disney Cruise??!! I can personally recommend a cruise - although ours was with the entire family.

Also - how far are you willing to travel? How much time do you have for your honeymoon? Do you have any preferences - beach, mountains, etc.?

Yellowstone is absolutely divine. The Outer Banks is also great. And I personally love to vacation in Vermont, New Hampshire, Mass., and Maine!

And - Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!!

Depends ...
- How much do you have to spend?
- How much time?
- What do you both enjoy doing?

For me, Las Vegas is fun. You can get cheap accomodations, there are lots of restaurants, and there is always something to do even if you don't gamble. Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire for hiking/nature outings, shows, etc.

What kind of passes did you get for WDW for Christmas? If you got annual passes, the only thing you'd have to pay for in June would be your room/food/souvenirs.

I'm not sure where you live, but is there a popular honeymoon place near you? I live about 3 1/2-4 hours from the Smokey Mountains. That's a popular place for those around here to honeymoon at (not my choice, but heck, I've never had a honeymoon;) ). It's a reasonable distance to relax and to get away.

Good luck on the wedding, btw.:) Congrats.

try tavelzoo.com. I know someone that just went to Aruba, they stayed at the Hyatt and loved it for their honeymoon destination. They really want DW but it was way more expensive. CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming wedding

I'm in Canada. I live right on the Fort Erie/Buffalo Border. We will probably fly out of Buffalo. We only have one week to honeymoon. We were contimplating Las Vegas. We don't gamble but we'd like to see the strip. We also have thought about a resort beaches and sunshine are always nice. Because we're going to WDW in December we would like to travel elsewhere for our honeymoon. So keep the suggestions coming and website links would help too.:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

HAWAII!!!!!!!!!

Maui, Oahu, Hawaii..............you WON'T be disappointed. You can pick up some reasonably priced packages which include air/hotel. We spent our honeymoon on the Big Island (Hawaii). There are non-stop flights to Honolulu from Chicago.

Have a great trip,

We've been to Las Vegas many times ... with our kids even (my sister lives there).

If you have a rental car, you can always drive to the Grand Canyon (I think it may have been a 6 hr drive) for a day or two. We also spent time at Bryce and Zion National Parks and I'm thinking that was only 3 hours away.

Lot's to do and a one-of-a-kind sort of town!!

EROS,
I like your suggestion!!! Never been there - would love to go! But can it be done for a reasonable price? (Do they have Motel 6 there? ;) )

Here is the perfect place and it's mine.LOL

Just trying to drum up business...June is a little slow.LOL

Just kidding, I think a trip to Vegas and a side trip to the Grand Canyon would be really nice. You could go see Cirque du Soleil and I've read that there are a lot of places that are fun and no gambling.

We went to Cape Breton, NS and Quebec City. We had a blast.

What about Hilton Head or Vero Beach renting DVC points from someone? Both are pretty. There was a lot to do, and not do, around Vero Beach. Lots of areas to go for walks, relax on the balcony, time by the pool, great restaurants, outlet malls, cute little beach side stores... I am looking forward to going back.

Karen,

Hilton Head is in South Carolina, and Vero Beach is in Florida, a couple hours from WDW on the ocean. Both these places also have DVC resorts and are supposed to be just beautiful.

We also (DH and I) jus got back from a weekend in Las Vegas, and I thought I would not enjoy it at all, and we really had a great time. Think about Vegas again, there is so much to do, you really don't need to go into a casino (except to get to your room). You can PM me if you want any more info on Vegas, I even posted a trip report that I would try to find for you if you wanted to read it.

Pam, I'd urge you to speak with a travel agent. There are all sorts of packages available there. It's probably cheapest to stay in Honolulu, but the planes to Maui and Hawaii are quite reasonable from there. Many spend 1/2 of their time in Honolulu and the other 1/2 on another island.

Hey, it's NOT MOTEL 6 , but how many times does one get married????   . Of course, Elizabeth Taylor is working on her 8TH husband!!!!!

Vegas sounds interesting to me. I'd want to stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel. Any suggestion? I checked out Hawai. I'm still trying to recover from seeing the costs. lol:p

Karen,
You didn't mention if you like informal or formal places, large resort or small inn, but I think Bermuda is one of the best places to vacation, especially for a Honeymoon. And, June is a beautiful time to go. Usually your breakfast and dinner (MAP) is included in the room rates and there are so many wonderful hotels and cottage colonies to stay. Check out the website, www.bermudahotels.com to see if it's a destination you and your fiance might like. Best wishes!

When choosing a hotel in Vegas you will want to look at the price for the time you are there (sometimes you can get the expensive ones for cheap during the week if there are no conventions in town) and then what section of the strip you want.

We usually stay with my sister, but when we go in the spring, we'll get a hotel for use of the pool. We have always enjoyed the Tropicana which is inexpensive and at an EXCELLENT location ... MGM, NY NY, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, Luxor. OR you might choose another section which has Treasure Island, Mirage, Ceasar's Palace, etc.

One year we stayed way at one end ... I was exhausted and wanted to go to sleep and my husband wanted to stay up! Well if you are within easy (and safe) walking distance of several casinos, this is not a problem.

There are several nice casinos off the strip too, but I think it is easier if you don't have to get in the car or taxi everytime you want to go somewhere.

Basically, I would look at price, location and your personal interests (if you will be spending lots of time at the pool, pick a hotel that has a nice one).

I went to Washington DC for my honeymoon. All the museums were FREE, and it was fun to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere....
