Where do celebrities stay

Princess Dianna stayed at the GFR - She had a whole floor when we were there in 93. Bruce Willis stayed at AKL in the Asanti suite. I got to see Michael Jackson at Mousegears at Epcot - not sure which hotel he ws staying at.

I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that when Michael stayed at Disney (which he did quite often). He had a special suite at the Contemporary.

We ran into Duane "The Rock" Johnson a couple of times in the lounge when we stayed Beach Club CL. He and his family were occupying the nicest 5th floor suite. An NBA player and his family were in the best suite at AKL when we stayed AKL CL (not being an NBA fan, I don't recall the player's name).

We saw Susan Lucci at the Yacht Club at the start of Soap Week. A CM said, "Welcome back, Miss Lucci", so she must like the YC.

We've not spotted celebrities at any of the values or moderates. Presumably, they stay deluxe club level in suites.

Jon Bon Jovi playing with his kids in the pool at the GF!!! (maybe 8 years ago now)

I almost died!!

He's been to Disney's Vero Beach a few times-there was a hysterical thread (with photos) about it. The OP talked about how he walked by and all the mommies sucked in their stomachs. :rotfl2:

I swear I could ride an elevator with, sit at the pool with dine at a restaurant seated at a table next to (etc) a celebity and never have a clue. I think there are very few I would recognize unless they had an entourage and still then probably wouldn't have a clue. !

That's usually what I notice first-Drew Carey's not that recognizable without his glasses but his entourage was just such a weird thing to see that I paid attention.

Also, I have seen footage of John Mayer dressed in a costume and out in the parking lots of his own concerts.

That's because John Mayer's a nut .

Richard Nixon gave his famous "I am not a crook" speech at the Contemporary Hotel.

I have a very good friend who is in charge of the castle stays and I hate to tell you but NO celebrities have stayed in the castle. Disney is not allowing anyone to pay to stay there nor is it a gift to any celebrity. As they have been asked by many, they cannot allow one and not the others. They did, however, get to tour the suite but NOT stay there. The suite has been used for prizes and make-a-wish nights only.

I thought I saw the story run in People magazine (who is owned by Disney) that Cruse and his family (just he, wife and the youngest daughter) did stay in the castle during their stay and tour of WDW about 6 months to a year or so ago.

We were sitting at the RPC in GF having breakfast a couple years ago and Roy Disney was sitting over at the next table. That was the only celebrity we've run across.

I thought I heard Miley Cyrus stayed here for her Sweet 16...

On my first trip to WDW (ages ago) we saw Dan Akroyd and fam at the Grand Floridian.

Christmas Night 2005 we attended the Candlelight Processional & were fortunate to see John Stamos as the guest narrator. After watching the Holiday Illuminations at Epcot we returned to the BC where we were staying & the CMs gave my DDs Christmas balloons. We were wandering around the lobby when a gentleman walked by & the balloon bouquet that he was carrying became entangled with my youngest DDs balloon. He apologized and untangled his balloon. We still tease DD that her Christmas balloon was talking with John Stamos' balloon.

He graciously stopped for pictures with other guests but we were too shocked to think to ask him. He seemed very nice.

I saw Nicole Kidman and Lenny Kravitz at the Candlelight Processional one year - Gary Sinise was the narrator that evening. The only reason I paid attention to it was that they were seated as the show was beginning and I thought it was distracting for guests to still be seated (first time seeing the show). Then I saw who it was.

Back in 1994/1995, Tom Hanks and family stayed at OKW.

I would like to know....

How will anyone know when a celebrity is going to be at WDW & where they will be staying?

I don't think it's usually an advertised thing.

If you ask at the desk at the hotel will they actually tell you who is coming, who is there while you are or that they already left?

I would take a quess that they would be fired if they told that information. I think most celebrities would like enjoy their vacations in peace rather than be stalked!

Will I have to take a guess if a celeb is around & just keep my eyes open which can get hard especially when the parks are crowded.

This is on the verge of creepy .....:confused3

Count me amongst those who would be blissfully ignorant even sitting next to some of these people! Unless there is an entouarage or security around I don't pay much attention, and even then I tend to go the other way and leave them be.

For millenium week in 1999 hubby did run into Al Roker in the elevator at the BC, seems both of them were making the early a.m. coffee run. He saw him around the resort during the week too, at that point they just nodded to each other.

In July 2008, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon spent some time in Sugar Loaf at Grand Floridian (the day they arrived was the day we were leaving).

We're staying at the poly the week of the Christmas Parade taping. I'll have to be sure to keep my eyes open around the resort and on the monorail.
