Where do celebrities stay

OK, here is how it works . . .

1) Celebs with preferences stay at the resort they wish.
2) Celebs covered under a contract (like SSW) usually stay at BC/YC.
3) Celebs can negotiate their contract to stay elsewhere in WDW.
4) So, there is no specific resort to see celebs, except during SSW.

I second this! I once ran into Jim Belushi in Chicago -- he said hello and asked "how are you?", I said "fine, how are you?", yada, yada (all the time thinking why is this strange man talking to me?). It wasn't until he got into a limo waiting in the alley that I realized who he was

We saw Julie Andrews at Boardwalk Inn when she was at WDW for Walt Disney's 100th birthday celebration.
I saw Gary Cole checking into Beach Club while we were there a few years ago.

Be jealous, y'all, I touched him once at a concert! Touched Elton John too, and while it was insanely cool for me.. not quite the same effect as JBJ.

I have not seen anyone at WDW, but I love this thread. I'm not ashamed to admit I love being on the lookout for celebrities.

I thought I saw the story run in People magazine (who is owned by Disney) that Cruse and his family (just he, wife and the youngest daughter) did stay in the castle during their stay and tour of WDW about 6 months to a year or so ago.

Unless Disney secretly purchased Time, Inc., it doesn't own People magazine.

My husband saw Magic Johnson when we stayed at the GF a couple of years ago. Many years ago I saw Richard Dreyfuss at the old Backot Studios Tour. He was very nice.

I was seated next to my next door neigbor at dinner once in a local restaurant and she said "Hi" and I was polite and said "hi" back but had no Idea who she was untill my husband saw the blank look on my face and said. "you know she lives in the house right next door don't you?"

I saw John Bon Jovi at a strip club in RI the night of my brother in laws bachelor party. Hilarious.

I also saw Eric Mangini (NFL head coach) at BWV right after the football season ended. Saw him again the next day in Epcot. I honestly think he smirked at me the first time I saw him at BWV as I was wearing a Patriot sweatshirt and Patriot hat.

When we were at the AKL in April 2008, I saw a lot of the kids from disney for the Disney Channel Games at the AKL resort. I saw them because our room was by the hot tub and for two nights in a row they would wake me up, so after the first night, I woke up my dd who was 13 and we went outside and she got her picture taken with the twins from the Suite Life and the young man who plays Michael on Zoey 101. What's ironic is that all that week we went to Wide World of Sports to see the disney kids at the Disney Channel Games and we end up meeting them at our resort. It was a great bonus to our first trip at WDW!

Spring Break 2009 Tina Fey, her husband, and daughter were staying in our building at GF. We were in a GV room and they were in a suite. We didn't bother her but passed her several times and she always smiled and said hi in passing. She also ended up at the table opposite us at the character bkfast at 1900 Park Fare one morning! DH did snap one pic with his phone

We saw Larry King and his wife (Shawn?) and their oldest son when we were eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe a few years ago. He was kinda loud. And my oldest daughter was in the hot tub at SAB with Zachery Ty Bryan (Brad from Home Improvment) also a few years ago.

About 7 years ago, we stayed at AKL CL. Billy Ray Cyrus and family were staying in the Asante Suite. (Pre -Hanna Montana days)

Also, DH saw an NBA player in MK by Ariel's Grotto. I don't remember his name, but DH thought it was cool.

On at least one occasion, Michael Jackson stayed in the Presidential Suite at the Dolphin (and staff had to ask that his kids not stand on the balcony, throwing ice at people on the sidewalk).

I saw Hulk Hogan checking into the Dolphin. Later that night, we saw him at one of the lounges there. He was kind enough to talk with my grandsons for a bit and have a picture taken with them.

I've never seen a celebrity at WDW, but my favorite story was on another thread about the man who saw Cher in the elevator at the Grand Floridian. From what I can remember, she got on with a few other people, and the disser started whistling "If I Could Turn Back Time" and she said, "Don't whistle, Honey, SING IT". She walked with them to V&A's and was very polite. I need to find that story and read it again. (I'll post the link here if I find it. )

I've seen John Travolta and Gene Simmons at the GF.
I think John Travolta has stayed at AKL too~

Oh dear Lord...if I saw John Travolta...holy cow........I'm thinking my husband might serve me with divorce papers as soon as we got home!!
