Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

Katie -

Another great update that I was three days late in reading. Oh well - loved your treehouse pictures! 30 minutes for JC is a little longer than I care to wait, but I do enjoy that ride. I hope they never change it because I love it just the way it is. It's from a different era in theme park entertainment and it needs to stay just that way.

Nice wench picture!!!!! I can NEVER photograph the wenches!!

Finally caught up!!

First, I hope Beth is doing well:hug:

Second, great updates!! Your pics of the treehouse are fantastic, I have to admit to never going up to see it:confused3 It just goes to show, it doesn't matter how many times your visit, there are still things you haven't seen or done:cool1:

ooooooohhh! Super great idea! (I may have to 'borrow" this concept someday) :rolleyes1

 Feel free! I "borrowed" the idea from someone who posted a picture of theirs on the internet. I get all my cake ideas from Google Images!

Love the cake! You did a great job!

Thanks Denise :goodvibes

Cute cake Katie!

Happy Birthday Patrick!!!

Patrick loved your birthday wish! :thumbsup2

Love the cake! It is so cute! Happy Birthday Patrick!! :bday:

Thanks Janell :cutie:

I love the cake - it's really adorable!

It was a pretty easy design, I was happy with how it turned out

By the time we hit JC, I just wasn't in the mood to backtrack so we stuck it out. It really was the only long wait of the trip. With the crowds the way they were, I was pretty pleased at the end of the week with our touring plan. I totally agree, it's a classic attraction that should stay the way it is!

Funny, the wenches were the only ones I got clear photos of on each visit to PoC

Hope you had an awesome birthday, Patrick! :dance3:

It was a fun party. Unfortunately, none of his friends from school came, only family friends. For some reason, we have this problem every year :confused3 Seems like once kids don't see each other at school everyday, they kind of forget. We managed to have fun anyways!

Finally caught up!!

I'll check in with Beth in a day or two and let you know the outcome of the surgery!

This trip seemed to be the perfect length but there were still things we missed and definitely a reason to return! :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday, Patrick!

Love the cake! Are there any leftovers for breakfast this morning?

So funny you ask Jackie, he JUST asked me if he could have cake for breakfast. I might have said yes except we have a friends birthday party in 2 hours and there will be plenty there I'm sure!

 We always eat birthday cake for breakfast the next morning -- it's just one of those strange Charleston Princess traditions. :lmao:

Day 3 continued

As we came around the corner into Frontierland, we once again were forced to recognize that the dream of a week with crowd levels of 4 and 5 was not going to be our reality

Just passing through

florida2010191.jpg

Goofy and Donald were visiting with some friends and I got to witness this interaction involving one guest's stuffed Goofy. Let’s just say, Donald was NOT impressed!

florida2010192.jpg

In 2008, we had basically skimmed right over Liberty Square so we paused for a little while. I feel kind of bad saying it, but this to me is the least interesting area of the park

florida2010196.jpg

We did see what I thought might be an IASW doll that grew up and escaped

florida2010198-1.jpg

Despite the crowds, the wait time for HM wasn’t too long so we decided to visit some grim grinning ghosts.

florida2010209-1.jpg

florida2010213.jpg

Most of my shots from inside turned out something like this

florida2010223.jpg

This is another attraction that reminds me of my childhood visits. I very clearly remember the ballroom scene

florida2010232-1.jpg

We stopped briefly and had the chance to sing along with these gentlemen

florida2010242.jpg

We took a little time to enjoy the theming of the exit area

florida2010250.jpg

florida2010253.jpg

We continued our way around the park which of course brings us crossing over into Fantasyland. I love looking at the old skyway tower. I’m not sure why I love it so much, maybe it’s because it reminds me of our trip to Switzerland

florida2010254.jpg

Finally we made our way to tomorrowland. We grabbed FP’s for Buzz and sought a cool place to sit for awhile.

florida2010257-1.jpg

Another classic!

florida2010258.jpg

Afterwards, we took a spin above the ground. I’m certain we MUST have ridden this when I was a kid but I don’t really remember it so I enjoyed the view

florida2010267.jpg

florida2010268.jpg

florida2010273.jpg

And of course the chance to take a load off (Shelby’s feet look so much cuter than mine but remember, I was suffering from blisters so footwear choice was driven by sensibility at this point!)

florida2010262.jpg

Our FP’s for buzz were ready so we headed off to battle Zurg!

florida2010279.jpg

I did awesome in the first room and it just went downhill from there. Shelby ended up beating me

florida2010284.jpg

florida2010285.jpg

Vent…what is it with oblivious parents? When we exited, I asked Shelby to take my picture with Zurg (it turned out terrible so you don’t get to see it) There were a couple kids getting their picture taken so we waited for our turn with another family behind us. The first family left and I got ready to pose and 2 more families walked up and their kids ran right into the cage and the parents just stood there. :sad2: Shelby had to inform them that there was a line. I know it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of the parks but a little courtesy of others goes a long way!!

Last on our list of Tomorowland must-do’s was a visit to the laugh floor

florida2010288.jpg

florida2010289.jpg

I think this is so funny! When we walked in, it was clear that we would be on the end of a row and I considered switching places with Shelby so I could be on the outside but decided not to worry about it. Sure enough…she was a part of the show! She was selected to be the person who has to think of a number. I SO wanted to take her picture on the big screen but I have read of others being scolded for taking photos and the CM was of course right there with the microphone so I obeyed the rules :upsidedow

At this point, it was about 2:00 and we had accomplished everything on our wish list for the day so we grabbed some snacks. I had suggested to Shelby that we share the cream cheese pretzel (YUM!!) and said I was getting a coke slushie (one of my favorite cool treats and boy did we need that at this point!). She then asked if we were going to share the slushie :rotfl2: YEAH RIGHT!! She had never had one so decided to give it a try…I think I have created another addict!

florida2010291-1.jpg

We stopped for a few PP pics

And a couple more photos

florida2010292-1.jpg

florida2010293.jpg

Then made our way to Main Street for the afternoon parade

Mmmmm....cream cheese pretzel and coke slushie. Mmmmmmm. I would really like to have one of those right now. Disney should offer express food delivery. :rotfl2:

I'm right there with you on the oblivious parents. I think when you aren't traveling with children that people with kids don't pay attention to you. Does that make sense?

Great updates! The crowd in Frontierland does look intense! Glad you got some time with Jen's grim grinning ghosts. I still get a kick out of the dining room scene too and remember it from childhood.

Coke slushie! :thumbsup2

Hope Patrick had a fun birthday. His cake looked great!

And hope Beth is well on her way to recovery!

I was supposed to be in the car on the way to church 2 minutes ago, but instead I am OOOhing and AHHing over your pics! :lmao: ok, ok, I'm going....

Hmmmm...I have to agree with Leslie a Cream Cheese pretzel sounds divine right now!! I would love to have one for breakfast!!! Beats trying to eat everything out of the fridge LOL!!!

Love your HM pictures!! I love HM!!! YES I DO!! Loved the one of the potrait in the foyer when you walk in...very cool indeed!!!!

Great Photopass pictures!!!!!

Mmmmm... Our local BJ's sells the cream cheese pretzels and coke slushies, but it just doesn't taste the same as it does as Disney! :rotfl:

:lmao: Interesting outfit! The one trailing behind her looks equally as odd.....

Crowd aside, it sounds like you had a nice morning/early afternoon at MK. Looking forward to your parade pics - you know, since I walked out on it and all.......

Nice update. It sure looks pack over there. I love HM.

I never buy slushies but did purchase one last year. It was a Raspberry Lemonade and it was the best thing that I had the whole trip and can't wait to get another.

I think some parents let there kids cut in line so they don't have to wait. I for one think it is so rude mostly of the parents.

Sounds like you did pretty good even with the crowds. I love your photopass picture poses! The pictures you took from TTA are fantastic! I would love me a coke slushie right now...:goodvibes

I've got a pizza in the oven but I think I could make that my mid-afternoon snack every day! Next time you are asked to do a Disney survey, you should bring up the delivery idea!

I suppose not having kids might make some difference but honestly, I want to believe the people who do those kinds of thoughtless things are simply doing them because they are not paying attention to others around them.

Yes, that crowd level was summer break-like (as was the heat!)

We had a great birthday, thanks :goodvibes

I got a text from Beth today that her healing is a bit slower this time around but she is slowly feeling a difference.

I can't even imagine the pain of your moving process right now...hope all is going well!

When they asked if anyone wanted to be the 1,000th ghost, I said JEN!

 :lmao:

It may be a good thing we can't get the real thing too often :confused3 I still haven't lost the 5 pounds I gained that week!
