Where couldn't you live?

Anywhere that isn't cold. I was born, and have lived in NJ for most of my life, with a 3 year stint in California and a 3 year stint in Florida. I don't love the intense heat of Florida either...but as I'm getting older...54 and I'm just growing tired of the winters. When I was younger...never thought I'd feel this way, but well, here I am :).

I can pretty much live any where. One of the skills you pick up as an Army brat. I was born in VA, we moved to Japan, back to the US and lived in Wisconsin for a while then moved to Arizona. As an adult, I lived in AZ, TX, MO, PA and VA/DC. I also spent 13 years in Germany.

Anywhere rural. Or suburban. I'm a city girl through and through. I'm not sure about anyplace really cold, I've only ever lived in the South. But I have survived winter vacations, so I think I'd adapt.

That's a good skill to have...being able to live pretty much anywhere. And having moved around for the first ten years or so of my marriage...and having stayed put for the last fifteen....I want to be an Army brat too :). At least that's our plan five years from now...could be a bit sooner, or later depending on family obligations...but we're hitting the road. We want to spend our "hopefully healthy sixties"....on the road. Around the world really...we will move back to the U.S. if we need feel the need for medical care...etc. But we're beginning to do a lot of research and planning on being ex-pats. :).

My sister and brother-in-law live in South Africa. I have visited a few times. It is very nice and I could certainly live there. They say the medical care is very good.

Definitely not where it's ridiculously hot in summer. I've only visited Phoenix in the winter or spring. But the people I met there scared me off about how hot it could get in the summer.

Somewhere where it gets real cold. I'm a southern girl. I've lived in Ohio where it snowed on the 4th of July and I've lived in NM where it snows and gets really cold, didn't like it. I've also lived where it gets hot, NM snows in winter and gets hotter then heck in the summer. I've also lived in the Middle East, where it gets hot and rarely rains. Here in Ga. we get a sort of winter from around mid-Dec. to April. It doesn't get bitterly cold but I do have to wear a coat some days, most its a medium jacket. We also have a short spring and a short fall but most of the time, those are still warm.

Anywhere with humidity...I'm a desert girl, any humidity and I feel like I'm gonna sweat to death. A development or HOA type of community...just not for me. And probably somewhere with a ton of snow. We get a little snow but not much and it usually melts really fast.
