Where Can We Go?

Okay, here is the situation. My five year old has decided that he no longer wants to go to Disney World, as he is scared to death of characters and rides. He prefers to stay at home with my mom again this year, as in years past. So, I have removed him from our 7 night stay in March, and added the deluxe dining instead of the regular dining to make up the difference in cost.

I have managed to get all of the restaurants booked that I wanted, except for the Castle on our last night. I am looking for a restaurant that we can eat at after the Magic Kingdom closes, as we wanted to stay until the end. I also want it to be special because it is our last night.

The problem is that I don't want any of the other restaurants in the MK as we are already doing them all, and we have already booked Ohanas for dinner and Chef Mickeys for dinner on various nights as well. 1900 park fare is out of the equation too as they are doing that in the morning one day before their pirate adventure at the GF.

Is there anywhere we can go for a special dinner on our last night that will be open after the Magic Kingdom closes at 8PM, and that will still allow us to get back to ASMu without being stranded? My boys are 8 and 7 by the way, and are up for almost anything. Sorry this is so long, and thanks in advance for any help.

What about whispering canyons at WL? short boat ride. There is also the 9:30 Hoop de Doo at FW, short boat ride as well.

Many, if not most of the resort restaurants seem to be open pretty late, we have a number of 8:30 ressies for our Feb trip. Our younger ones are 8 and 9 and we looked at both of these. We are doing the Hoop so skipped WCC as the menu seems somewhat similar but I know they'd like WCC as well.

Thank-you so much for the recommendation, I had actually considered the Hoop, but didn't know how far away it was from the MK. Also, how would I go about getting back to my resort after that?

I have not traveled to restaurants at resorts before except for Ohanas, for the fear of being stranded. This is the first year in the 5 in a row that we have been going that I am venturing away from the parks lol.

You can take a boat ride from the MK to FW to see the Hoop. The boat ride is about 10-15 minutes. As far as getting back to your resort, you would probably need to head to DTD and catch a bus back to the ASM.

You guys are truly amazing. I just called and booked it. What does category 2 seating mean, any ideas? Thanks again!

Not quite sure what that means, but I am sure someone here does. I think you will really enjoy the show and the food is pretty good too. I was thinking about getting back to your resort and you have a couple of options. The bus to DTD from FW is at the other end of the campground. You would need to take a bus from one end of FW to the other to catch the bus to DTD.

The other option is to take one of the small shuttle boats from FW to the CR or WL then take the bus from there to DTD, then from DTD catch a bus back to your resort.

There may be other ideas but this is what I remember. Enjoy the trip.

As to transit, It might be worth getting a cab for trip from FW to your resort.

actually, every time we have ever left the HDDR there have been buses waiting to take guests back to their resorts... there are usually 4 or 6 buses and guests from various resorts do share (i.e. staying at BC we went to Pop, CBR, YC, BW, & BC)... my only advice would be to not lollygag getting to the buses... the one time we stopped at the restroom (long line) we ended up missing the bus!

Thanks for all the advice. We are not normally lollygaggers although my children do seem to have to visit the bathroom absolutely everywhere we go, but I will make sure they do that before it is over.
