Where can I find good but reasonable places to eat outside Disney?

Hi Stacey,

It really depends where you are going to be. Our favourites are:
Sweet Tomatoes - I-drive - salad, soups, pastas & breads
Romano's Macaroni Grill - 192 - Italian
Red Lobster - lots of these around - Seafood
IHOP - for breakfast - especially Vive la French toast :goodvibes

Here is a link to our list of favourites (some are on the list for our next visit) : click here

There are plenty of good reasonably priced restaurants about so it helps with the budget allowing you to splash out when eating in the parks :cool1:

Thanks for the information. I am so looking forward to Sweet Tomatoes - my MIL loves this place and our family is big salad, soups and pasta lovers. MIL says to plan on going here more than once during our two week stay......

My 6 year old daughter orders salad when we go out to eat......she is going to be in heaven....

Would you remember the cost of Sweet Tomatoes by chance?

Hi Jennifer,

To be honest we found this really cheap :thumbsup2

I think it worked out about $35 for 2 adults, 2 kids and drinks (not sure if that was for lunch or dinner as we did both)

Just checked the Brits Guide 2007 and it quotes the price at $7.99 for lunch & $9.79 for dinner. Drinks are $1.69 with free refills. Kids under 6 pay $1.79 and age 6-12 is $4.99. (all these need tax added to them :) )

My kids just love this place and to be honest I wouldn't say they are big salad eaters any other time :confused3 - they are not fries with anything kids either though. I think by the sounds of it your 6yr old will want to go more than once :rotfl:

A favorite of ours last time was Cici's Pizza buffet. Dirt cheap and decent pizza, good pasta, decent salads (some locations have salad bars) and you can get coupons in any of the books you find around. We also like Moe's Southwest grill so we were able to find one on 192 and that is pretty inexpensive as well.

Thank you so much for all your replies. I am getting hungry just thinking about these places!

We like Moe's Southwestern Grill in the Celebration shopping center, for fast-food.

We also like Tijuana Flats - there is a hot sauce there called Sweet Sally that is awesome, especially for someone like me who doesn't like heat at all. The Tijuana Flats has a branch out in Metro West on Kirkman, kind of by Sweet Tomatoes, and they've also got a location in Winter Garden on 50, where it intersects with 535.

If you like oysters, there is a great oyster bar called Lee & Rick's on Old Winter Garden Rd. It is a dive, but the oysters are plump and delicious, and very affordable.

We avoid the 192 restaurants like the plague; the cleanliness standard out there leaves MUCH to be desired.

Cheers!

Cracker Barrell : basic American comfort meals
Shells: seafood
Dixie Crossroads: shrimp / seafood

We always have to make a stop at Logans on 192. Great steak.

There is a shopping center just outside Disney called the Crossroads that has fast food, sit down restaurants and a grocery store. They have something for every budget there.
