What kind of bags do you use for groceries?

I shop at Aldi and they do not have bags, so if you want bags, you bring your own. I bought my reusable bags at Wal-Mart for $1 each and I love them because they have long straps so I can put them over my shoulder.

I use a variety of re-usable bags. I have some DD and I bought in France that are really nice. I have a couple from my last Disney trip. And we've picked up a Red Sox bag recently. I also have two insulated zipper bags that I use mostly in the summer because the grocery store is 15 miles away. 25 if I want to go to the Super Walmart.

I have the reusable ones from both Stop and Shop and Waldbaum's and use them whenever I shop. I find they hold more and are easier to carry.

We shop at WalMart for groceries and all other for everyday items.
We use the cart and then the plastic bags.
When i get home, i reuse the plastic bags for our bathroom trash.

I used to do plastic, but more and more stores here are switching to paper only. I hate paper bags, so I bring my own now.

I like the reusabel bags the best but if I forget them I use paper in plastic. I can't stand the plastic bags. They roll all over the place.

Hannaford reusable bags. I take them with me to Wal-mart and when I use them at Hannaford I get 5 cents taken off my bill total for each bag.

I'm a cloth bag convert. I can fit 5x more groceries in one, plus they fit on my shoulder and I no longer have to take the cart to my car OR make more than 1 trip once I get home! Plus the bags stand up and don't spill. LOVE THEM.

I just got the $1 ones at KRoger.

We use plastic bags for things around the house but I have enough Target and other shopping bags to use for that. Plus if one of us runs into a store for 2-3 items, we let them stick it in a plastic sack so we have another on hand. We don't need 30+ a week that we were once accumulating.

I mostly use re-usable bags when I grocery shop. However, I use paper bags for my recycling, so when our stash of them is running low I will get paper bags instead of bringing my own re-usable bags. :thumbsup2

I use reusable bags, unless I forget them or get more groceries than I can fit in my bags. When that happens I use plastic, which I re-use at home for my bathroom garbage cans, as someone else mentioned.

I love how much the reusable bags hold, and the long straps that will go over my shoulder, too. They are great.

I'm trying really hard to train myself to remember my shopping bags every time. I used to keep them in my trunk and that didn't work because I didn't see them so I didn't remember to grab them. Now I keep them on the floorboard of the front passenger's seat, where I will see them when I reach over to grab my purse. :thumbsup2 Makes my car look kinda messy, but oh well...

I use a combination of bag types. I'll use my reusable bags if I can remember them. However, I usually forget them at home or in the car. *sigh* I switch between paper and plastic as I re-use each kind for different things. Paper bags are used for other recycling materials. Plastic is used as a small garbage can liner or for dog poop.

reusable bags when I remember them, or if I run out I use large paper only except for meat. That goes in plastic.

I use the paper for for my paper recycling and the few plastic bags for my bathroom trash or for trash bags in the car.

I have the lighter weight bags from Walmart and Stop and Shop but I also have the heavy canvas bags from Target, love those!! And Trader Joes has bags like tarp material, those are great for heavy stuff.

How do you like Aldi's?? We are getting one in the spring, is it nice??

Mostly reusable but usually I add 1 or 2 plastic when I buy a lot of groceries.

That is usually me.

I sometimes forget my bags and then I replenish our plastic supply.

For those of you that use reuseable bags, how do you give them to the person bagging? I've been thinking about bringing my own but don't want to just give my big wad of bags and them look at me like they're supposed to be folded or that I'm supposed to help.

Pathmark has great reusable bags, when I shop you can fit alot in each bag.

I have re-usable and washable grocery sacks. My dear friend created them and makes them for fun and I have a few groovy pieces that I can choose from each trip.

So, I guess I use designer shopping bags. I even take them to the mall and I refuse the plastic shoppers.

I have them all loose in one big bag or my wooden basket/backpack. I put that on the belt first and all the baggers know what to do with them. At Stop and Shop we get 5¢ back for each reusable bag we use so the bagger counts them as they fill them up.
