When you get blood work done, does your Doctor call with the results

No it does not. It shows your thyroid function.

Do you know what test does show that? I have a whole list of tests here that I jotted down from my script. I just wondered if any would show that.

I think an "FSH" is one of them. Not sure of the others.

Thanks. Surprisingly enough, I don't see that on my sheet.

Do you mind listing what is on your sheet? You can PM me. Since I am a bit of a hypochondriac, I'm pretty good at identifying what lab tests are for what!;)

Mine will have his nurse call and go over them good or bad and he also posts the results on a patient portal that I can log in and look at.

We have Kaiser. The results are usually up on kp.org before the doctor can do anything (I mean sometimes the same day, they are up on kp.org). If they are normal, which mine have always been, I get a letter in the mail from the doctor saying it's normal.
My DH has elevated cholesterol and gets a letter from the doctor to call the doctor.
Anything that has required immediate attention has been done IMMEDIATELY, U/S, MRI, mammogram have all involved talking to the doctor right away

what is up with all the Zombie threads lately, it's not close enough to Halloween!

Our doctor expects us to go back for a second visit so he can review our test results. When we go this year for our physicals, we are going to decline the second visit and tell them to call if anything is wrong. Who can take off from work like this and why should our insurance (and us for the copay) be charged for a second visit?

I receive a copy of all the tests. My Dr. notes this on the lab sheet.

This poster has resurrected several zombie threads this morning. Hopefully I stop falling for it soon. ;)

I noticed, too, that this isn't the first zombie thread that you have resurrected today. How did you manage to find such old threads? And do you ever look at the age of a thread before reading or responding to it?

My internist sets up blood work a week before my checkup, so he has the results in hand when I come into the office. I like it that way. My Gyn only calls if something is wrong.

I don't think it's a big deal, the topic is still interesting. Now the "Where are you ringing in 2009?" threads...that's another story. ;)

But should I answer based on how my doctor's office handled it in 2007..... or in 2015? ;)
