When you get blood work done, does your Doctor call with the results

I can access my tests results online. If I don't want to do that, then it's my responsibility to call and ask for the results.

I assume that if I were having a major test with life altering consequences... or I HOPE... that my doctor would call rather than having me just see the results online!

I don't think it's a big deal, the topic is still interesting. Now the "Where are you ringing in 2009?" threads...that's another story. ;)

Yeah, never understood why some folks think it makes any difference if an old thread on a still topic subject comes up, versus someone starting a new thread.

Because sometimes the information in the old part of the thread is outdated. And because you might want to ask questions of earlier posters only to find they don't post here any more.

Seeing an old poster is usually my first tipoff that the thread is a zombie.

Well, in this case the topic is not dated, but you are correct, the OP could have moved on and no longer be a part of this community.

Actually my doctor's office does handle it differently now than they did in 2007. Back then it was "we'll call you if there's a problem". Now they have a computer system that patients log into from home to find the results posted online.

Not earth shattering, but the passage of time did change my answer, just as it does in many other zombie threads.

I have the online option too. But my wife, daughter and son, who see different doctors in the same practice don't.
