When would I be most likely to be able to get BLT at 7 months?

I have decided not to buy BLT points. I plan to take my chances at the 7 month mark. I am retired and can go ANY time. From your experience with other hard to get resorts like BCV and VWL, what times and/or days are most likely to be available at the 7 month mark?

I think I would wait until they officially announced it as a DVC resort before I tried booking at 7 months out. They may sell so few points, that at 7 months out, there may be nothing left for non-home resort members.

Jan, May, Sept and Oct (non Holidays) are the most likely times overall. But given you are flexible and can wait list multiple times, you should have no problems getting something during those and possibly other times as well.

I think it depends on fow fast BLT owners make their reservations. Afterall all BLT potential owners will book 11 months out, so for the first 11 months BLT will be empty

my home resort is SSR and I tried to change to teh BLT for Sept 2009. MS said they won't be taking reservation till Sunday, Sept 22. Those phones are going to be so busy.

Jan, May, Sept and Oct (non Holidays) are the most likely times overall. But given you are flexible and can wait list multiple times, you should have no problems getting something during those and possibly other times as well.

agree expect for Oct - you are monrail ride away from the food/wine festavial at Epcot (so no car driving necessary) - plus Mickey's not so scarey halloween party at the MK.

especially Sept should be fairly easy.

now Jan and May would make the reservation at the 7 month window.

sept I think you can wait.

plus this is assuming you can take a Bay Lake view - not a standard or MK view.

standard and Mk views would think like BWV standard - you need to be a member at BLT.

wait a few years and standard might be more available.

and the Number 1 reason - it looks like our retired school teacher from WI had a change of heart and is a proud owner at BLT and, hopefully, already has a reservation secured.

My things have changed in 6 months.

Since the thread is being reopened, I may as well speculate. We are all just speculating here but my best guess is that once the newness wears down (about a year or two), you will be able to get a lake view (most rooms at BLT) if you call exactly 7 months out for at least medium to lower demand times of the year, such as much of Jan, first part of Feb, most of Sep, and many weeks during the summer. 1BR and 2BR will likely be somewhat easier than studio. But waiting any time past that exact 7 month window may prove the deathnell of getting anything as there will be very high 7 month demand coming in from owners at other resorts, particularly SSR which has the most owners.
