When worlds collide~the original flats meet in 4D!!

thanks....It will be rough at first but I there's nothing else I'd want him to be doing at that age....You send off a 19 yr old boy and they come home a 21 yr old man and most of them learn things they can use through out their life..
My brother learned spanish, since he was in Chile, and he now has a bachelors in Spanish and south american studies...pretty cool.

thanks you! One "plus" to look forward to is we will be able to "pick him up" at the end of his mission....With 3 boys, I should get to see some cool places....or they could end up staying in the states...maybe florida?

That is really good. You are so right! He could be getting into so many other things at that age with many other influences.

:rotfl2: Oh wouldn't you be super happy if he was in Florida!!

I need a little more help with nailing down my adrs...Over the last 2 days I think I've changed my mind 10 times and added several new adrs.

It all started when I read through all the menus....I'm craving real food! For the past 2 weeks, if it can't be microwaved we can't eat it....I'm so sick of that kind of food....i can feel my arteries clogging...

Here's what I have .......

2/4 Raglan Road *6:30

2/5 Chefs de Fance *6:20

2/6 Kona * 9:40
The Wave * not sure what time

2/7 Tuotto Italia *5:10

2/8 Kouzzina *7:50

2/9 Tony's Town Square *5:00

2/10 Libety Tree Tavern *8:05
Park Fare* 10:50
Teppan Edo *7:45
Jiko *8:30

Obviously, I need to decide on only 2 for the 10th. Teppan Edo is one of D.Jay's favorites, so if I take it off then I need to add it somewhere else.

I say keep Teppan for the 10th! Is the other one on the 10th supposed to be breakfast or lunch?

Our ADR at the Wave is at 5:55pm.

Everything else looks good to me and is making me hungry!!

I have a question....is it just me or is it a little ironic that all the "famous" people and holding a telethon for Haiti? I thought the same thing after Katrina.
The majority of Americans are as charitable as you can get.

I'm not saying we shouldn't contribute what we can, but it really bugs me when the "celebrities" do something like a telethon...sheesh, don't they get enough attention?

I'd like to know how much they are donating of their own money along with the ticker that will count the money pledged.

I'm not complaining about being asked to contribute, it's more who and how it's done. In fact, without the influence of Oprah, ellen, & Beyonce...I managed to contribute, all on my own. And I'm sure millions of others have been charitable and concerned for the people of Haiti, without someone with an over blown ego telling them to.

ok, I'm now stepping off the soapbox.

Ditto. I think Rosie O'Donnel said it best (not her exact quote) "I'm all for a telethon asking for help. But what I want to see is the celebrities putting in their money as well."

Cherie feel your pain with letting go !! But mine came back for 6 months and that was 7 years ago:lmao:Now she has NO intention of leaving !!! For the most part we all get along well !!But sometimes I would like to send them HOME and have some peace !!! :cloud9:
I think tomorrow is the single digit day or is it Sunday!!

Lol. I'm guilty of that one. I finally left home at the ripe old age of 27...only to come home 9 months later (with my fiance and infant son) to be a stay at home mom to my now 2 year old son. At this point in the game, my mom jokes all the time that I can't ever move out. :D Which...isn't a problem with me. :D

I'm glad ours can't learn to drive till they're 17 and that might be going up till 18 as it means I have more time before the tail light years

Teens can get their license here at 16. However, my parents told us that until we could afford to pay our part of car insurance, we could not have our license. No big deal to me really...back then. I didn't go out with friends and only had a summer job, to which I'd walk (2 miles each way) or take the bus. I'm thankful I didn't get my license till I was 18...I feel like I turned out to be a much safer driver and didn't take my freedom for granted (as some teens can do).

Anywho! Cherie...your "tail lights" post was so sweet. Maybe you'll get lucky and he won't ever leave home. ;)

He hasn't started to look yet...he wants to work at a scout camp durring the summer...but that messes with my vacation plans...He could also get a summer job working for a farmer...what he realy wants is to work at the movie theater....yes, I said "the" we only have 1.

Jeans are funny....I don't like the low rise but I also don't want the high rise "mom jeans";)
I like mine right at my belly button...I was looking at pictures from high school the other day and I had a pair of pans that went practically to my "girls"....which is pretty high considering things were still perky before gravity hit.

bailie has a pair of "skinny" jeans that are so tight and low....she was getting up off the floor at my parents and mooned have the family..

I hear you there, a HS buddy sent me one the other day and not only were they high waisted flares...I had a sweater tucked into them. That looks so incredibly uncomfortable it's not even funny. Almost as funny as the bad farrah hair....

The bummer is they hit one way standing, another sitting and they are never perfect both ways....

Scout camp would be a great job, Eric wants to do that too but it's a pretty big chunk of the summer...

ok personal opinion. I'd do LTT and Jiko on the 10th and trade Raglan for Teppan on the 4th. That's just me and only b/c I can never get excited about the Raglan menu much as I love the atmosphere and d.jay loves Teppan.

Although I agree with Cynthia on keeping LTT and Jiko on the 10th, I'd trade out Teppan for Tony's on the 9th. THAT menu has never floated my boat.

To each his own :)

I'm so proud of the man he is becoming and I know he will leave the nest eventually........but can't it be postponed awhile longer?

There seem to be so many "tail light" moments in our lives. I just hope I can remember the good things about the tail lights disappearing. To be honest, I can't wait to make him run errands for me.

Sighing... and laughing, too! :grouphug:

the other is breakfast..I can't decide which one I want..

that's the most intelligent thing I've heard her say in a long time!
;)

I've always been glad that I can blame my clothes in the 70's on someone else.....sadly, I have to take full credit for the 8o's...

The bummer is they hit one way standing, another sitting and they are never perfect both ways....
I wish they had invented putting a little "stretch" into jeans when I was a teen...those skin tight high waisted jeans were never comfortable......my sister used to wear some that I think she had to grease herself and then jump off the roof into the pants......oh and there's always the camel toe factor too.

Raglan is somewhere we've wanted to try plus we get to meet Rosie for dinner!
I may just have to add a lunch in there...somewhere.

I've haven't heard very many people give tony's a good review...but Jenny loves it, so we thought we'd give it a try.....but maybe I could fit Tepan in there..

The Wave is at 5:55pm on the 6th!!!

thanks!

Personally I'd get rid of LTT and 1900 PF and eat an early lunch at Tepp followed by Jiko. Or go to Tepp instead of Tony's :thumbsup2

Tough choices, Cherie! I would keep Teppan Edo for the 10th. Are you doing the dining plan? I can't remember...
I'm still not sure if we're going to do the ddp...luckily I still have a few days to make up my mind

I like the idea of switching teppan edo with tony's:idea:

I think this is my final adrs....but who knows what I'll think of tomorrow.

I realy wanted to do breakfast at LLT and see the characters in their colonial costumes... it's my favorite "version" of Minne.
I don't know why they decided to take the characters away....the food is that great...it's ok, but I wouldn't go if there aren't any.

1900 PF....well, again I want to see the characters that are there for breakfast. I also wanted another breakfast...it's my favorite meal.

Winkers I love Tony's !! One time I had the steak and the next the chicken Parm, both were great !! Dessert is a no brainer TIRAMASU !!!!!
RAGLAN is a must do every trip for me !!! They have some wonderful choices and their desserts are soooooo good !!! I think we will be happy!!!
