When will '09 dates be released?

I know a lot of you are disappointed, but I think they're really gearing up for huge changes with the new ships for 2010 and 2011.

I have never been on the Eastern cruise so I liked that they have it for next summer. But on the other hand would have been nice for the Europe but sounds like it will be the following year.:)

WOW! The price for us was about $1000 more than I expected. Yowsa! Guess we won't be heading back to Disney for October 2008 and just saving our money for this cruise instead.

Funny enough, I tried to book a specific CAT5 stateroom and it wasn't available! :scared1: That was at 9am this morning??!! LOL So we went down one category.

Was yours not available and that's why you chose the opposite side of the ship? How much did the price go up for you compared to 2008's?

Eight DCL cruises and I've always been on the port side so we wanted to try starboard for a change.

I will have to go back and check the price versus 2008. But I was stunned when I got quoted the price for the cruise only and realized this had not included the price of the flights.

We managed to snag two connecting category 9 cabins for the August 15 Eastern Caribbean cruise stopping in Tortola (2102 and 2104). I called in just after 8:00am after I could not pull anything new off the website. I knew something was up when the hold was about 15 minutes. It was worth it, though. I know that many of you wanted longer cruises or more far-away locations, but this is just what we wanted - 7-night cruises with a little something new. This will be our first time on the Magic after two 4-nighters on the Wonder. And the prices do not seem all that bad, either.

I was sooo close to booking that cruise. Really wanted to go to Tortola but the 22nd is better for us.

I was on hold for about 10 minutes when I called around 8:45 am.

We got the date we wanted on the Feb 14, 2009 7-Night Easter w/ St. Maarten. I would have loved one of the other options but the date was important.

I couldn't get out of work until 11:00 so while I'm talking with my customer about important safety matters I'm thinking, "Are the dates up yet? Where will they be going?" My heart just wasn't in my work this morning!

Was able to get connecting Cat 10!

I too got the dates I wanted .. Booked 10/10/09 for our Canadian Thanksgiving! :thumbsup2 Do you think they will serve Turkey for us Canucks? I actually got cabing 7620, one of the Secret Verandah cabins. I can't wait. I've never been on a normal cruise, only the Med cruise, and the EB Repo. I think I did things backwards!!
:goodvibes

FINALLY!!!!! I just booked are spring break and sent emails to the friends who want to join us! Now we can watch the DCL special on the Travel Channel on Sunday and know we are going to be there in 15 monhts!!!!!
Yeah!!!!!

Holy crap, the prices are outrageous! I was hoping to switch to '09 for a better price, but I guess we'll stick with our '08 Thanksgiving cruise. I can't believe our holiday cruise cost less than any cruise we would be able to do in 2009. :scared1: :sad2:

Moved our May 2008 to August 15, 2009 Eastern - Tortola first thing this AM. I agree - prices are high! Went from a Cat 4 to two, connecting Cat 10s (secret porthole cabins!).

Now we just have ~620 days to countdown!

Well just to prove this thread was on the case for a long time and over the past few weeks the port name in the Carribean was mentioned over and over again.

We all were dead right on the release date as well!

Rock on this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of hype and excitement regarding 2009 release dates, and I think many feel a bit let down. The rumors stating on this thread that they were staying closer to home were absolutely true.

I would have loved Hawaii myself. I also would like another Med. Alaks is too cold for me, but would be beautiful.

This thread was correct on the port and staying in the carribean and the release date! Not bad!

Interesting. I just ran a comparison with the December '08 cruise that we booked onboard last August, and the price for the same cruise in '09 is $200 less (all else being equal).

I have to wonder though how full the ship is going to be. I know that a lot of people who signed up for the 08 cruise were just holding spots for 09 cruises, so I am sure the ship is going to start opening up soon.

I guess I will have to keep an eye on prices to see if I can finagle a little rebate out of this.

I have done one port three starboard to date, 08 Port again and the same room for 09!
