When to order Photopass

Could anyone tell me if it matters when you preorder a photopass? Could I order it now when I don't leave until the end of April?

Do you mean the preorder code expires? I'm away more than 30days so would be preordering at least 6weeks before I start to add my photos. I know they only last 30days.

Last time we preordered about 4 months before our trip. We had no problems at all but that was 15months ago so I imagine it could have changed.

It doesn't.

That the site isn't technically supposed to be accessed by just anyone. Disney sends out an email to some people shortly before their trip with a link to the site (it's sort of like getting a PIN code.) In the email, it states that it expires.

Fortunately, Disney hasn't seen fit to crack down on preordering by people who don't receive the email.

Thank you for your recent visit to DisneyPhotoPass.com.

The Walt Disney World Travel Company only sends out the random
Pre-Purchase PhotoCD e-mail 2-3 weeks prior to your arrival date to Walt
Disney World. We do not state on our website the expiration date, as
guests generally purchase their items within the 60 day limit. We
apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

As a courtesy we have extended your code for an additional 30 days.

You will almost certainly need to call to get the code reinstated. It shouldn't be a huge problem, but it will take some time to get it straightened out.

The code expires 60 days after you pruchase it. It started last fall. It's not advertised, but many people had problems and contacted photopass, and found it out. They got them reinstated, but siad it was a bit of a pain and took awhile to do.
I also emailed photopass to question this and got the generic letter back that states that you aren't supposed to preorder unless you have been invited and that the code is only good for 60 days. I am preordering ours the day I get back most likely, or possible the day before we leave. I'm debating on the book still. I got it 2 years ago, and I thought the book really made the picture quality look poor. But yet it was nice to have it all in one spot. Last year I did my own scrapbook at home (actually JUST finished it) and it just takes alot of time and money for that too.
