We are planning a trip to Disney and want to know what people think is the best time to go. We can't decide between the week of Sept. 24 to October 1st or go the week of October 1st to October 9th. We have previously gone during the April vacation week and the week of Thanksgiving and it was so busy. We are hoping this time that we can pick a better week where there are not so many people. Any input would be appreciated. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Both good times. Here's some things to consider.

1. If staying on site, rates go up a bit starting September 30, so if you check in before that, you'll get a slightly lower rate. If you keep reading this board, you could find out as soon as there might be some discounts available.

2. We've been there the last week in September 3 times and crowds have been low. It's still hot and humid (to me) and brief afternoon showers are common. But not as hot as summer. The weather probably wouldn't be much different a week later.

3. Food and Wine Festival at Epcot starts 10/1 this year, I believe. The first week end is usually busy. We went for the first time last November and had a great time sampling all the different foods. It's a fun time to be at Epcot. We wandered around the World Showcase, splitting food and did that for lunch or dinner 3 times.

So, there's some pros and cons for each week. Hope you have a great trip!

As long as you don't mind a little heat sept. is the perfect time
have been there 3 times at that time of the year and would recomend it. Crowds are small kids just going back to school.

I'd have to agree! Sept!

Both are good weeks to go as mentioned, but between the fact that the rates may be slightly lower and the cold seems to be felt more in Oct. up north than in Sept., the crowds may be just slightly better too.

Have a great time either way!! :wave2:

It depends on what you are interested in....If you have an interest is the Food and Wine Festival or Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (Highly Reccommended :D ) then I would pick the October week. We were there this year Oct 2-6 and the parks were empty no more than a 25 min wait, usually 10 mins or less

Thanks so much for all your input. Now we need to decide on a place to stay in the World.
