When to go in April?

We're thinking of going for a few days this April, but several years ago we went in the March/April timeframe and the crowds were horrendous...

Since Easter is April 16th, when would you recommend going? I want to avoid Easter and Spring Break crowds...

We're going end of March/beginning of April and still expecting some crowds. However, the earlier in April you go, the more you miss the Easter crowds. It will get consistently busier as you near the holiday.

I would go at the end of April. The Flower and Garden Festival will be on (starts 4/21), the Easter crowds will be gone. It will be regular season resort rates instead of peak.

The last week of April is usually pretty good. We are going then mainly because it is my kids school vaca here in NH. Can't Wait!!

my rule of thumb has always been.....wait 10 days after Easter to go. Because the Easter crowds are still there the weekend after Easter too....We're arriving on 4/25 next year and heading home on 5/3. In between spring breaks and school getting out for the summer.
