Horrified by resale agent treatment

I agree with the sentiment but not the process and language used by the other agent. It felt disingenuous, sleazy, and somewhat 'threatening' as in, take this price or we won't try to sell your contract. He was in effect saying the other agent, his colleague, was wrong to suggest the higher price when it was the lowest of all similar contracts. They are sold. I am pleased with the price. I know one buyer is purchasing with intent on surprising his wife for Mothers Day - I hope ROFR gets through for them in time. I will do whatever on my side to get it executed ASAP.
I am glad you had a happy ending after dealing with all of this

Thank you. ROFR passed two days after Mother's Day and I did my paperwork the next day within an hour of getting it so there is one very happy mom out there.
Except the buyers haven't bothered to do their paperwork. I need to consult the agreement to see how long they can wait before the points can be sold to an actual interested buyer with financing. When I bought my 9 contracts, All I cared about was the Disney ROFR and the seller doing their stuff like so many on this board.
I got the buyer who doesn't have time to do their paperwork or the money to actually buy the contract. YAY......

That's ridiculous. I'm such an impatient person that if my contract doesn't close by the date it lists, I will pull the plug.

Well I have have had a very different experience with the agent in question than most here but as a buyer. We originally purchased 300 direct Riviera points (in 2-150 point contracts). About 1 year later we added 100 resale Riviera from the agent referenced. He was responsive and helpful throughout the process. Keep in mind, he is the West Coast rep for this broker so his hours probably tend to skew later if you are on the East Coast. I guess I don’t understand the burden of a late email…maybe don’t check your email? It isn’t like it was a text message, you can choose not to look at your inbox.

We made an offer this past weekend on a 150 point stripped Riviera contract but the seller countered and we had no interest at any price other than our original offer. We made an offer for another 200 point contact that was accepted within an hour and the agent sent me his usual email. It’s Disney after all, if you are concerned about someone having a favorite Disney persona for Disney specific transactions I think maybe you are burned out. Sure, it’s a little odd but I think it’s just part of the schtick and doesn’t bother me in the least. Lastly, the brokers process is maybe not your preferred method but that’s what it is. I selected said agent to represent my offer this time because the ease of the transaction last time. Since I selected his name when making the offer he was the one to reach out to the seller.

It was actually my mistake. I didn't realize that it's not scheduled to close for another month. I'm in the middle of purchasing a home and did not need to find that out this morning. But it was my mistake that it was always scheduled for a month later no wonder why when I was a buyer I was always in turmoil waiting.

I found that the closing dates of my contracts were always 60 to 75 days out.

As a seller, I always requested at least 60 days too so that I gave myself time if something should delay me!

But, of course, if bit me when DVD took my SSR and took the full 75 days to close !
