When to book the dining plan

We are planning to go Disney next April and we are going to do the dining plan. We are renting points so we are going to be staying at a DVC resort but we arent DVC members. Will we be able to book the dining plan when we check into our resort? Or do we have to book the dining plan before hand?

The dining plan has to be booked 72 hours prior to checking in.

I'm pretty sure that you'll have to have the person you're renting points from book it for you.

If you are renting points....The DVC member books the Dining plan for you.You pay for it when you arrive at the resort

For DVC reservations the dining plan must be added to the reservation no sooner than 48 hours before arrival, and the member you rent from must call Member Services and add it. Member Services will not deal with anyone but the actual member. You will pay in full for the dining plan when you check in.

This help me also. Do you have to buy the DP for the entire stay? And if a DVC member books it, you don't have to have it match your magic your way ticket number of days? We are splitting our stay between DVC and Hilton. Thanks!
