Does anyone have any information what will replace Jellyrolls, don't tell me Disney wants a Pie Bake on that end of the boardwalk so you can have your cake and eat pie to.

I am sooooo bummed at this news.

I’m planning a stay at the Boardwalk at the end of May with some friends and I so wanted to take them to Jellyrolls (they’ve never been)!

You can see my posts in the Boardwalk Thread… one HERE.

“That being said, they also indicate that the venue will still be shuttered and remodeled into a new jazz club. Disney has also reportedly begun casting in earnest for the new establishment and has told those performers they would be looking at a 2026 debut.”

Jellyrolls would have been a giant hit if they didn't charge an entry fee. I can't tell you how many times we walked over thinking we'd love to chill, hear the pianos and have some drinks only to walk away because the fee was always too high. What difference does it make if you make the money in profits of entry fee? Should have made it free and it would have always made a profit, it is a terrible business decision to charge a fee in a space without a draw. The only draw is it is one the Boardwalk and you can get there after EPCOT so if it was free sure but I'd never pay $22 to just walk in the door be late getting in after fireworks. We went once but never back because of $ when so many options are free.

I agree with this, or even if they had made it more reasonable ($5-10), we would have gone. We often stay at Dolphin and would walk by Jellyrolls after leaving Epcot with an interest in going in, but knowing we were tired and might not stay more than an hour or two, we didn't want to pay the cover charge. We would have likely gone in every time we walked back from Epcot if there was no charge or it was a nominal fee.

I agree, the entry fee kept us out too. But another reason we stayed away was that our understanding was there weren’t enough places to sit if you didn’t get there at opening. I’m not fond of standing around balancing a drink while trying to enjoy music and applaud performers.

Because there would be many nights where a big percentage of tables are taken by people drinking water for 3 hours watching the free entertainment. Sure, you might be someone who would go in, buy a few cocktails, and be profitable. But this is WDW where there'd be a group of 10 who shared a diet coke.

While we've only gone a few times in 15 years of BWV ownership....it was always packed. And honestly....if I'm running that business I'd rather have it 75% full of people who don't care about the cover charge than 100% full with lines out the door of people who will probably order one grey stuff cupcake to split.

Let's also not forget convention crowds. Swan/Dolphin and Yacht Club have a lot. They'll pay anything since they can expense it and my guess...even if on their personal dime, are less cost conscious than the avg Disney guest.

So a 2 drink minimum wouldn't work? I've been to lots of spots with those and as long as you have non alcohol offerings it works just fine.

I never saw it packed in all the times I have dropped in and I stopped in my last two trips only to walk away because no piano is worth nearly $50 to walk in unless it's Billy Joel hanging out playing The Entertainer. You can listen for free at POR or just be entertained in the parks for your $100 + a person already paid.

If it was profitable it wouldn't be closing, Hoop Dee Doo is still going strong

You couldn’t be more wrong. JellyRolls was a huge success. Disney is just kicking out a 3rd party in order to try and capitalize themselves.

FWIW JellyRolls is moving; not closing. Which is weird since according to some here, it failed.

Oh, where are they moving? Will you go to the new spot? Are all you fans following it to the new spot?

If so I bet they will be thrilled and make a ton more money since I imagine Disney charges a high rent compared to other spots.

It was a favorite when it first opened for us, it just got too pricey to be worth it but maybe we'll try the new spot if they stop charging so much to be there since we usually have a car anyway. I'll take a look next trip.

The last few times I went to a Billy Joel.concert it was $300+ so $20 to get into jelly rolls still seems a decent deal.

While I'm not a fan of cover charges....it guarantees a certain revenue per person. As others have said, it's not closing...it's moving. I wouldn't be surprised if a very similar experience is in that spot in the not too distant future

Imo Jellyrolls was a huge success even with the high cover charge. It was always crowded (super crowded on weekends) when I have been there. The talent is amazing and they always make it fun. I believe it's the 3rd party owner Disney wants to get rid of and put their own type of bar there so they can make more $. I'm just really hoping to still be able to see Scotty and Michael somewhere. I would travel to an offsite place, but loved that it was so convenient especially after Epcot. And I love that they sang Disney songs when requested too! I doubt you will get that offsite! :(

I think that since it's become virtually impossible to frequent the Boardwalk by driving over and parking your car, it's less popular/convenient to visit. I wouldn't be surprised if Jellyrolls moves over to Disney Springs. While part of me would love to see a jazz club there (I still have this hope that DS, who majored in jazz performance, will apply to Disney), I'd like to see something replace Big River Grill also.

I thought they indicated to stay tuned for exciting news. So who knows. We've owned BWV since 2011, many, many stays, Never went to Jellyrolls, never really planned to. Not our scene. Won't miss it.

But it's literally a $8 Uber ride from anywhere on property....and I'm guessing $12 from offsite. Disney being protective of the parking there is not new.,...we're going on a decade of it being an issue.

Whatever goes in the space will be just as popular and we'll have the same conversations about how do I park for free...the the answer is you can't. So my take is since we know the answer is you can't park there to visit that space....let's talk about ways people can get there.
