While I will never say I like cover charges... They are very common. When PI open we paid multiple times each vacation + they had a comedy venue with a 2 drink min on top if you decided to go in. Never really made it much to Jellyrolls as back then it was PI then kids now teens it has not been in my cards. I do not recall the cover for PI but it was in the teens and that was over 16 or about years ago it closed. Growing up in NY hearing 22... that was 30+ year ago pricing for covers.
But alas there is always Atlantic Dance hall maybe more will go now.
We went on Tuesday night and it was packed with convention people talking loudly. I go to hear the music but it was hard because of all the background noise. Disappointed after paying 44.00 for 2 people to get in. The thing that really bothered me is that the QR menu does not list drink prices. (I thought FL had a law regarding this) Asked for a paper menu and was told they do not have them. You know it is Disney and expect outrageous prices but would like to at least know what you are spending ahead of time.
We have gone many times but even if they were not closing this would have been our last time. Cover charge and drink prices are just too high for the experience. I think the Boardwalk area has a lot of missing potential.
So glad to see this! When I mentioned Jelly Rolls to DS, he mentioned that he was surprised that Disney would use that name. Then he proceeded to imply that the name had a "non-G rated" meaning. At the time, I wondered if he was just trying to scandalize Mom, but apparently not. The things you learn studying jazz!
