OH MY GOSH YES OP THIS IS ME!!! My DH has no regard for money and how much things cost, he just buys. Drives me nuts. I love love love a store called Christoper and Banks,he always buys me stuff from there full price. After 20 years with this man I just quietly take it back and get a price adjustment cause it's always at least 30% off a week later.

I can relate. DH has been sick with some respiratory junk since the second week in Dec. Went to the doc on Monday and got a prescription for a cough medicine with codeine. He stopped back by our house before going to CVS to see if there were any coupons he should use when he got the scrip filled. I gave him some extra bucks and a gift card to use.

He comes home with his medicine, some kleenix, and a new toothbrush.

My first thought was "Hey, don't you know I get our toothbrushes free?"

Luckily I edited and didn't say anything out loud. What kind of nagging shrew takes out after her husband for splurging on a toothbrush?

I freak when my husband spends a ton of money on flowers. Sweet? Yes. Do they die in a couple days? Yes. Could he write a sweet note that I could keep forever for free? Yes

In this day and age I can't imagine people not caring if someone spends 80 bucks on something thats not important. I think there are many ways to be romantic without spending a ton of money.

I think it was very sweet of him, but I would be freakin out (especially with no coupon) lol I'll bet they are pretty though!

I used to have a wholesale floral license and could shop at the wholesale warehouse. The mark-up on flowers is astronomical! Even years later (when I no longer had the license) I always cringed a big when dh would send me flowers. I've tried hard to get over it.

But you know what bugs me now? I guess it's his version of thriftiness. There is one local florist in town whose bouquets I absolutely adore...and my dh knows this. HOWEVER, when he does send me flowers he does it online and uses some link that gives him cc points....and so he's spending money anyway but I'm not getting the fabulous flowers from the place I love. All 'cuz of those stupid points. ARGH!!!

Really, at this point, I'd wish he'd just pick some flowers out at Costco for me...

I would be bothered too- its sweet but too much money. In Florida we made a stop (unplanned) at Golden Corral for supper.....I saw on the counter someone had handed in a coupon from a tourist book for 10% off- it just drove me CRAZY knowing I had that same coupon back at the condo and not with me. Silly......10% but it feels so good to save any amount when everything seems so expensive. Same with mini golf.....we HAD our coupons and it bothered me to watch all the people in line ahead pay full price.

Honestly, it really doesn't bother me at all. Any gift is appreciated, along with the thought behind it. I hope that you can enjoy your flowers as they are meant to be enjoyed.

DH no longer buys me flowers because they would die after a few days and he was paying $$$$. Now he just picks up small things.

I stop every morning to get a bottle of diet coke. Dh knows this and bought me a 6 pack. This meant more to me than flowers ever did. To me it shows he really knows what I like
