We are considering a trip to WDW next year so we can experience the holiday decorations first hand. Our only two options are going during the 4-day Thanksgiving weekend, or taking the school vacation time in December (after Christmas). I've heard that crowds are more managable during the Thanksgiving weekend, but we would only go then if the parks and resorts were decorated and the Christmas activities, parades, shows, etc. start then.

Any info or advice is much appreciated!!

We were at WDW over Thanksgiving this year and the lights and decorations where up when we arrived the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I am not sure how much is added during the MVMCP though...

We went Nov. 5-10. There were many Christmas decorations up then although I am sure it wasn't everything. They did have the garland on Main Street and the Christmas tree in front of the castle was up and lit. That week they had just changed the Country Bear Jamboree over to the Christmas show and COP was decorated for Christmas.

Our first day there this year was the day after Thanksgiving.

All the Parks and Resorts were decorated and there were Christmas themed parades. I think the day after Thanksgiving is the beginning of the Christmas Holiday Season at WDW.

The only way to see the Christmas parade in the MK is by going to MVMCP and the first day for that was Nov. 27th, a few days after Thanksgiving. The Candlelight Procession had it's first show on Nov 25th.

If you're able to go to either of these, I recommend them highly. However, if you can't be there past Sunday, I don't know if they'll be running at that time.

I've never been there during the week between Christmas and New Years, but from what I understand the crowds are unbelieveable.

This is the first time we've been able to go at this time of year because our kids are no longer kids. It's really difficult when the Children are still in school.

They where actually putting up the osborn lights up when we where there the first week of october.I believe right around thanksgiving is when every thing lights up.
