When is the least crowded time for Tomorrowland Speedway?

My DD4 wants to go on this on our next trip. We missed it last year, and everytime she sees the video I took from the TTA, she sees the 'car ride' and wants to go on it. SO....without standing in line for an hour, and without going there first thing in the morning, when is it least crowded? I haven't gone on that ride in probably 15 yrs, but there used to be huge lines all the time. Thanks!

Head there first thing- as soon as they open. I usually send my DH on with the kids and grab fast passes for Pooh or Peter Pan. I get back in time to take their picture ( from the bend in the fence heading to Toon Town). Sometimes they are even able to ride twice!!

Last thing of the night, as fireworks are starting, no lines, and magical fireworks as you drive!!!

First thing in morning. I took DS 5 on this while DD and DH went on Space Mt. when they got off DD wanted to go and we did but in the time of 1 ride we then waited about 10 minutes for the second - not long for this ride but just showing how quick it fills up. Then walked over to Buzz and had less of a wait.

If it's important to your dd, I'd head there first thing in the morning. You'd probably be able to walk right up and ride without waiting. You could also grab a fastpass for Space Mountain or Buzz while you're in Tomorrowland.

First thing in the morning...that ride is always packed with people due to the extended loading/unloading times.

I've rarely made a line in that attraction. It goes continous and I have never seen a problem.

:)

You have my sympathy! ;)

DS is just barely tall enough to drive, so in October we stood in that blasted line many times. It was never less than 20 minutes and it gets very warm if the sun is shining. DS also wanted his photo in that car out in front of the ride but there were always kids swarming all over it. I'm thinking your best bet would be to go first thing in the morning, even though you were trying to avoid that! Good luck!

I'd try to talk them out of it :) this ride really does stink. The cars go about walking speed.. you really can't drive them much... and the wait is always murderous.

If they really want to go on.. do it the very first thing as the park opens.. and then never do it again :)

DD 9 loves this ride. I would advise NOT going first thing - because they get hooked!! :rotfl2: Seriously, shortest lines first thing, but, she loves it so much, we are always walking by - but we have a short line policy... but she likes to "check just in case"!!

So we've also been successful at night (no hot sun beating down while in line - that sun and that line can be brutal!) and during the fireworks is a good suggestion - if there are late emh hours, and your child can stay awake past midnight, then chances are there arent lines after midnight!! (we've done it in the good old days when you paid $10 for the late nights - now a thing of the past with the late emh nights!) :wizard:

How strange, for me it is, without fail, the longest line I have waited in at WDW. I only do it because DS loves it the most. I will try the first thing next trip!

This is one my ds MUST do each time. I have waited over 45 minutes in the blazing summer heat with him (his idea, tried to talk him out of it, he never complained once about the wait) I think there is something about the opportunity to drive that makes kids love this ride. It is pretty lame - the Autopia at DL has better theming IMO.
We try to do it early - or later in the day as a filler - when all the lines are long it really doesn't matter what line we wait in - and if he is willing to wait in it and not complain I guess I shouldn't complain either! ;)

Well it sounds like you can't get there early. Hmmm. If you can't get there early, I'd try during the spectromagic parade on a day you aren't going to see it of course. It usually has long lines throughout the day and most of it is in the sun.
