Can someone plase tell me what dates Jersey Week will fall on this year? I would really appreciate it!! Thanks!
Liz

Hi....I think Jersey Week is the first week in November this year. You can check the NJEA website. This will list the conference schedule for teachers. Sorry....but I don't know the link for it.

Hope this helps!

The NJ Teachers' Convention is scheduled for Thursday Nov 6 and Friday Nov 7 in 2003. Some school districts have only those days off and people add onto them, some close the whole week, and others do a convention/Veteran's Day combo and thus may be off the two days of the convention as well as Monday the 10 and Veteran's Day, which is Tuesday the 11th. So it may actually affect two different weeks, but I would suspect the greater affect will be on the week of November 3.

Hope this helps rather than confuses!

Wow, I feel some what out of the loop here. Is this a convention they hold at WDW? If so what kind of effect on attendance in the parks does it have? We will be there 10/30-11/7.

It's not anything held in Florida. It's a block of time that New Jersey schools have off at the start of November, and many families take advantage of the time off by taking a trip to see the Mouse.

We've been during this time. It creates crowds that are unusual for that time of year and they are exagerated by shorter park hours.

I'll avoid it in the future.

I was planning on going to WDW the beginning of Nov. Should I avoid the first full week of Nov or the first and second weeks, in other words, could someone please post a range of dates to avoid. Thanks.

I would avoid Saturday Novemeber 1st - November 9th. The 10th is Monday (Veterans Day) and although many schools are closed most people will be heading home.

I had read on another post that is was scheduled later in the month and I am so glad that was the wrong information. We went last year and during that time and were amazed at the crowds. This year I planned for a little later in the month and am glad to hear Jersey Week is again in the begining of the month. Although looking at several other posters, I am getting a bit worried as they too seem to be planning around Jersey Week and will be there the same week we will!!!! (LOL) Can't wait to get planning and packing and most of all on my way to the happiest place on earth....any week of the year! Thanks again,
Liz and Greg

Exactly how bad are we talking here, crowdwise? Spring Break bad? Summer bad? Should this time be avoided at all costs for a person who tends to like the light crowds of the "off-season" and is seeking a relaxing trip versus a commando trip?

I was planning to take advantage of the FTP and go from Nov. 4 -11, but now I am worried that I should just go in early December like I originally planned.

HELP!

HELP!

We were there during Jersey week last November and I thought the MK was the worst of the parks-really crowded.

Really crowded like in the summer (wall to wall people) or really crowded like 20 minute waits for popular rides. We always travel off season (Feb and Sept), or so I thought. We have reservations for Nov 1 to 9 and now I'm extremely nervous. Please help!

I'm still a little curious about how bad this makes the parks too. We have gone in April-- and had an slightly larger crowd-- so as long as it's not much worse than that I am fine with it. Or is it as bad as Easter and Christmas? We already have our MNSSHP tickets so our trip is pretty set. Just wondering so I can keep this in mind when setting up our plan of attack.

Since we're from Jersey, we usually go during "Jersey Week". Last year it was more crowded than the other years we have gone. The MK was really crowded on the Tuesday we went (which is supposed to be a good day to go), but from talking to someone, who goes to WDW a lot, it also was the Veteran's Day and the night they had the night parade. An example of wait times for rides....Buzz, later in the day was a 45 minute wait, Space Mountain was a 60 minute wait. Can't remember the others. We're going the first week in December this year, but next year I plan on going back during "Jersey Week" again. I work in the schools and we're off most of that week, so I only lose a few days' pay. "Jersey Week" is usually the first week in November. I think in 2005, it may be the second week, but it's usually the first week. This year, our schools are closed from the 5 - 11.

We experienced Jersey Week for the first time last year and will never be going that week again!!!! Now we normally only go during low crowd times and we thought we had picked another low crowd time and were shocked to see how many people were there! We did manage by using EE and leaving the parks around 1:00 and of course using Fastpass but it was still a shock to see wait times for Winnie-the-Pooh and Buzz at 60 minutes. We of course FAstpassed, but couldn'e believe all the people waiting!!! This is where EE was also a lifesaver!!!! We headed straight to Fantasyland as soon as the park opened did all those rides and then hit Tommorrowland to get Fastpasses and minimal waits at other rides. So it's definetly do able, but I would say you MUST go with a plan of action more than you would if you went the second week in November.

MK was really crowded- about 60 minute waits in Fantasyland all day. There were also long waits for Space Mountain, Buzz, Splash and Big Thunder. The paths and walkways were also wall to wall people. The other parks did not seem as bad. This was last year.
