When Ducks Attack&Monorails Don't Work! A July '12 TR **new 3/17

continued

I had the Deluxe 1/3-Pound Angus Cheeseburger - topped with bacon, onion rings, and barbeque sauce served with french fries
DSC03083.jpg

IT WAS SO GOOD. Probably one of my favorite meals of the whole trip! It was all great, the bacon, the burger, the ONION RINGS, and the sauce- sooooooooooooo yummy

Joey had a Hamburger (from the Kid's menu, it looks like)
DSC03084.jpg

Johnny had a Kid's Turkey Sandwich
DSC03086.jpg

Dad had a 1/3-Pound Cheeseburger with fries
DSC03085.jpg

And my mom had the Chilled Chicken Wrap
DSC03087.jpg

After a yummy dinner, the boys were dying to go to the shooting arcade
DSC03088.jpg

I joined in too, and I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. But when I was putting the gun down I did somehow manage to drop it on my finger :rolleyes1 and that thing is heavy so it hurt!

By now the boys and I had done everything we needed to do, and my parents didn't have anything they absolutely wanted to do, so we went back to the room.

On the way home we had another monorail incident. When the monorail came up about three or four doors didn't open up, including ours. And the CM's wouldn't let us go to the last few monorail cars because they were marked off for some reason too. So a whole bunch of us had to squeeze into the remaining few cars at the front of the monorail. Luckily we were the first stop, so we got out of there quickly and relaxed for the rest of the night!

Sounds like the parent-free trek over to MK went ok--except for your brothers not cooperating on the Haunted Mansion line!

Can't believe you'd never eaten at Pecos Bills! I like the fixings bar-always get the grilled onions and mushrooms to add to my cheeseburger.

Hope you have a fabulous first day of school tomorrow! :)

I know, I loved Pecos Bills though! Can't wait to eat there again!

Thank you, I had a pretty great day at school yesterday

And the ONE DIRECTION shirt!:lovestruc:thumbsup2 Haha gotta love 'em!:goodvibes

July 8th

Today was one of our well deserved sleep in days!
Dad went to church about 15 minutes away, and when he came back it was time for Downtown Disney!

DSC03092.jpg

It's a long bus ride to DTD, so we decided to drive there instead- which was a lot faster!

When we got there we headed straight for our favorite place to eat, probably in the top 3 of our favorite places to eat in Disney list, Earl of Sandwich!
DSC03093.jpg

Joey and I went to get a table outside (since the inside was packed!) and wait for our sandwiches

I had the Italian - salami, capicola, roasted ham, mortadella, mozzarella cheese, roma tomato and Zesty Italian dressing
DSC03094.jpg

DSC03095.jpg

I always get this (minus the tomatoes) and it's the best sandwich I've ever had!

I think this was my Mom's: Best BLT - smoked bacon, lettuce, Roma tomatoes and seasoned mayonnaise
DSC03096.jpg

DSC03097.jpg

Joey got the Pizza Sandwich
DSC03098.jpg

My dad got (I THINK) The Earl's Club - roast turkey, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce and roma tomato and sandwich sauce
DSC03099.jpg

Johnny got the Italian, like me, but he didn't get the sauce (which is the best part )

After lunch, the boys didn't want to stay and go shopping, so they took the car home and my mom and I would catch the bus back later.
First, we had some shopping to do
DSC03101.jpg

We went into Once Upon a Time where I got
DSC03102.jpg

a cute stuffed circular Pooh for myself and a baby dumbo keychain for one of my friends, who had gotten me a Cinderella pin when she went to Disney a couple of months before

Next stop was World of Disney
DSC03107.jpg

More stuffed animals! My mom got the Donald and Simba for her friend's kids and I got the Nemo (which talks!) for my friend's birthday

And for the deal they had going on this trip, we got the bag!
DSC03108.jpg

We stopped in the Christmas store
DSC03103.jpg

I love Christmas stores, especially Disney Christmas stores

That was all the shopping for today, so it was time to go to the bus stop
DSC03104.jpg

DSC03105.jpg

We had the bus stop all to ourselves!

It took an hour to get back :rolleyes2
We waited for the bus for about 10 minutes, then we had to stop at the other DTD bus stops, and then we had to stop at Typhoon Lagoon before we were finally back at the Contemporary!
The people that sat next to my mom and I on the bus were asking how to get to Epcot from where we were going. She told them to get off at the Contemporary, take the monorail to the next stop, then get on the monorail at the T&TC to Epcot. Now that I think about it, that was a pretty smart idea of them... to park at Downtown Disney so they wouldn't have to pay, and then just take Disney transportation to a park

Up Next: Fireworks from the Beach

Me and my wife are very excited about going to the Earl of Sandwiches. Never considered going until seeing your pics of the food, looks awesome!

July 8th

When my mom and I got back to the Contemporary, we all changed into our bathing suits and went to the pool
095.jpg

We spent the afternoon at the pool and relaxing
I wanted to go to MK that night and stay until it closed at 2 am, but we would be waking up at 6:30 the next morning to go to AK and then staying out until 1 am at DHS.
So this day ended up being out non-park, relaxing day. We usually have one of those about half way through our summer trips

After an afternoon at the pool, we all wanted to have dinner at the Contempo Cafe since we had loved it so much the first time!
It was a late dinner at 8:30

DSC03110.jpg

DSC03111.jpg

I had Pasta with Marinara Sauce
DSC03112.jpg

I don't really like pasta, but this was yummy!

Looks like my mom got Marinated Beef Flatbread - with oven roasted tomatoes, garlic, onions, arugula, and goat cheese
DSC03113.jpg

My dad got what looks like a turkey sandwich
DSC03114.jpg

Joey didn't get anything, I don't think

Johnny got a Cheese Flatbread
DSC03115.jpg

The mickey on the chairs
DSC03116.jpg

After dinner we hopped on the monorail to the Polynesian, to watch the fireworks on the beach!

Watching the fireworks on the beach at the Poly is the best spot, the play the music on the beach so you can hear, you can see the whole show with no buildings or people in the way, and you don't have to have your neck craned different ways to see the fireworks!

After the show we hopped back on the monorail and took it around to the Contemporary, we needed to get to bed because tomorrow we'd be back to the normal early morning routine!

Up Next: Joey's First Encounter With the Yeti!

Hi Sarah! Great report so far. Subbing.

I think the ST on the GAC card stands for Studios.

Enjoyed the updates!

First let me say, that I was practically drooling over the bread in those EoS pictures. You know it's my newly discovered love!

An hour to get back to the Cont from DTD?? You must have had the same bus driver we had this summer!!

The Poly is the most relaxing place to watch Wishes! :goodvibes:

Thanks! I LOVE EoS's bread, it's perfect
Haha, we must've! Actually our bus driver switched off with another one about thirty minutes in, so that made the wait even longer lol

July 9th

We woke up at 6:30 this morning (which at the time felt like torture, but now I wake up at 6 for school, so 6:30 sounds amazing) and were at the bus stop at 7 am! We had good luck- the bus was there when we got to the bus stop!

DSC03143.jpg

We had to wait about 10 minutes before they started letting people through the turn stiles. Then we waited for about another 10 minutes before they let us past the rope! We were towards the front, not like in January when my mom and I were in the very front, but we were really up there in the pretty big crowd. Of course, we, along with everyone else, went straight for Expedition Everest! But we're not the people who RUN towards EE, instead we just followed the crowd.

DSC03144.jpg

It was Joey's first time riding EE!

DSC03145.jpg

Johnny and I got very back row- just like on Rock N Rollercoaster! Joey and my mom sat in front of us, and my dad sat this one out and waited for us outside.
Joey really enjoyed it and we got FPs for later!
DSC03147.jpg

After seeing the Yeti, it was time to head onto our safari! The route we took to get there was totally empty, it was so cool walking down the roads and there not being a person in site, just like on my January trip
DSC03148.jpg

The line wasn't very long at all, and we were on our truck in no time

We had a good safari and afterwards it was time to use our EE FP's!
DSC03169.jpg

Once again Dad waited for us outside
This time I rode with Joey, he didn't see the Yeti the first time, so I made sure to point it out to him this time
Hands up!
DSC03171.jpg

When we got off, Dad was having bad heartburn so he went to the first aid station with Johnny. Leaving Joey, my mom, and me in Dinoland! Of course we were feeling some Primeval Whirl!

Johnny and Dad still weren't back, so we got right on Triceratops Spin

DSC03180.jpg

When we got off, we waited at a table for a few minutes for Dad and Johnny to meet back up with us.

I think at this point my camera died :/
No worries, there's two more cameras I could use lol
With everyone feeling ready to go, we decided it was time to ride Dinosaur! There was literally no wait for it (there wasn't a wait for ANYTHING we had ridden)

After we barely made it back from the time of the Dinos, we made our way over to Camp Minnie Mickey because it was just about to open and we had a show we needed to watch!

Up Next: Elephants and BBQ

Glad Joey enjoyed his ride on EE!

Looks like you had a good safari. Love seeing all the little wart-hogs running around!
