When does Florida students get out

I know that most Florida schools go back the 1st half of August. When do they get out? Will the days they were out for the hurricanes need to be made up? I know when we were there this August during Charlie we spoke with many Florida residents who were visiting because they had 2 or 3 days off school.

NW Florida here - we started school August 2nd this year. This summer is probably not going to be typical because of the hurricanes and all of the makeup days. We were getting out May 20th, but we will now be getting out June 9th, and the rumor is that we will be starting back August 1st.

Same here.. . in Santa Rosa County we have 12 days to make up. I don't know when we'll be getting out yet, as the School Board hasn't posted the new calendar yet!

Hey - I'm actually Santa Rosa County myself. DD's principal, even though it isn't officially posted, is pretty confident June 9th is the date. She said they're trying for 5 "forgiven days," but if they aren't granted, June 9th will be it.

Well, *that's* a good thing to know! I wish they'd post that calendar, though. I'm itching to see if & when spring break is. . . thinking of planning another trip to WDW, ya know! :d
