When do WDW Resorts get sold out for Christmas

I have my room booked at Port Orleans French Quarters but my paretns & brothers are not. How long do you think they have for Christmas 2007?

I always wait until the end of August or beginning of September to make ouir reservations. That's because I'm wiating for the AP rates to come out. I've never had a problem getting the resort we want. However, I have heard that if you are going the week between Christmas and New Years you need to book early as they do fill up. We always leave on the 26th.

Do code rates come out for that week? We are going 12/22 until 12/30?

I don't know when the code rates come out -- I think there is an actualy list of historic dates over on Mousesaver.com. The AP rates come out either the end of August or beginning of September. Usually, the rate ends on 12/23 or 12/24 so you have to have your reservations start on or before that date to get the rate for your trip. We check in on the last day of the rate or the day before and the entire trip is at that rate so it works for us.

Be prepared for outrageous crowds while you are there. Get everything in that you really want to see prior to Christmas Day because after that the place is packed. I had friends there this past Christmas to New Years and they got shut out of parks twice due to the crowds.

Rooms are still available. We never book early and then apply the AP rate -- I need to see what I can afford first. The Values sell out first and then the Mods. Some of the Delux resorts were still available in late November -- I know because we considerred changing our resort. The Values have the best price but the discount is actually larger in the Delux resorts. It all depends on what you want for a Christmas Trip. We don't do values except POP and for Christmas I want something special so we stay in Mods' or Delux.

I know we can afford a mod so I booked it before I new about the chance for a discount. Last June the only Ap discounts were for BW, Y & Beach. which were very lastmin & I only got to use a few days AP rate for the trip.

I missed so much being off the Board for a few months. Thanks!

I know for example, that the Atrium Level at the Contemporary has been booked for much of the second half of December for a month now. When I booked in early January '07 for December 15 - 27, '07 I could get my dates but December 22 itself was nearly sold out. When I checked back a week later, all the Christmas week dates were gone. Concierge is in short supply at many resorts after the 22nd. Just check CRO online and then call.

Also, I had to speak with a Supervisor later to correct my original reservation which starts in the Value Season and then crosses into the Holiday Season because of that December 22nd heavy booking problem in the computer system.

Isn't applying the AP rate only working id AP rooms are available. We did a split stay at B & Y last year when the AP came out last min in JUNE I could only get it at AP rate @1 Yacht Club. They could not give it to me at Beach for the room I had booked.

Thanks for your help! We always went in March and this year we are going in May minus my husband because of his new job I feel bad, that is until I get there, LOL. So we figured we would go next year at Christmas time when the plant is closed and plus I always wanted to see all the decorations.

Where the plant in PA? We are closing our business down for 11 days this Christmas for the first time ever. The way the holiday falls everyone can get off 11 days in a row with only missing 5 pay days. We are banking time for them so they get a check which we will give then the 1st week of Dec. DH said he was always worried when he took off in the summer & could not 100% relax in WDW.
