In line now and a guest ahead of me just told us they keep the queue open for an hour past close. :confused3

They stop people getting in line at the time that the park closes. If you're already in line before closing, then they just keep loading guests onto the ride until the queue is empty :) If the park closes at 9pm, you can get in line until 8:59pm :)

If you are planning to get in line late at TSM I would suggest waiting until right before close to get into line. Cause it would only be a few minutes before all of the FP guests have been run through the queue and then the SB queue will begin going much faster and your wait time will be less than if you got into line with 45-60 minutes left before close. I speak from experience from just this past Friday night. Got in line at 7:15pm with an 8pm close, wait was said to be 75 minutes (but the little one wanted to ride one more time on our last night so you take one for the team and we parkhopped over from AK) Shortly after 8pm the line started moving much quicker and we were in by 8:15pm, only a 60 minute wait. LOL!! If we had waited to get in line around 7:55pm I would bet we would have only waited 35 minutes tops.

Ok full story, i was telling the couple in front of me the you can get in line upto 1 minute before closing tip. The girl in front them had "the look" you know the one where you have better info. You have all seen it, I'm sure people here have given it.:thumbsup2

So i asked her again making sure i understood her and she was quite certain they would let you in the line upto one hour after closing.

Nope, not true. I've seen a CM get at the end of the line at park closing. Nobody is allowed in line behind them. It might take up to an hour to get the existing line done, but no, you can't get into the line after the park closes.

My husband is a CM at TSMM and like everyone else has said; if the park closes at 9pm you can get into the line at 8:59 but not at 9pm or after.

^This. When the park closed at 8pm this past Friday we were off the ride by 8:25pm and the front entrance to TSMM was dark and closed with 3 CMs out front to let folks know it was closed. But we know there were many folks in line behind us.

I used to work in attractions at WDW. At closing a CM gets at the end of the line & doesn't let anyone else in line after closing.

Ok quick update.

We had rnrc fps for 7 40 to 830, yes the end of the window was after close. At 6 55 we got into the tsm with a 50 min wait. Standby was hardly moving. One hour and 10 min later we left tsm, after 8 pm. standby was still open with a 45 min wait time.:confused3

We ran over to rnrc and my sons got to use their fp.

I've always seen them cut it off at closing time. In fact, the only times we've ridden it is when we get in line 5 minutes before close. We do the same for Soarin'.

They may have extended the hours or you misread the hours. They don't issue FP past closing time AFAIK.

If they had extended the hours it would have been a secret extension and only to around 8:15 or so since the CM greeter we were talking to at the entrance to RnRC left at that time.

I too found it odd that the FP- return time for RNRC was 7:40 to 8:30. I still have an extra one I didn't use. If someone returned at 8:29 they would have found no one to take it and a dark closed entrance.

Now I didn't see anyone get into to the TSMM line after we exited after 8:00 PM but it looked open with all the lights on and no one blocking the entrance. It was the fact that they still showed a 45 standby time that was really odd.

We were there Monday (Dec 16th) night. HS closed at 8pm. We hurried over to the ride at 8:05 and they were still letting people on. However, the standby time was 70 min.

Drove back to our hotel and went to bed....:faint:
