Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Afternoon all,

1. Car - wouldn't be able to get anywhere without it for the most part. And while I hate getting stuck in traffic, I do enjoy being in my car sometimes especially when I can blast out some music and have some time to myself.

2. Coffee - something I drink regularly and couldn't do without each day (although I do refrain somewhat when on hot holidays)

3. Cats - another vote for them and how adorable they are. It's fairly warm and nice here today, so this is how my two have spent their time:

(Tue, 4/7) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter C
1. *sings* C is for cookie, that's good enough for me. C is for cookie, that's good enough for me. C is for cookie, that's good enough for me. Oh! Cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C.
2. Cookie Monster. I mean, after number 1, I think I basically HAVE to say that for number 2.
3. Christ
(Uh... NOT in that order... :D )

Bloody Mary at Dawa bar. I don't drink vodka, but I drink these, made with 'African' spicing and topped with a thick slice of candied bacon.

PIZZA!!!

Tomato bread pudding. Made similarly to bread pudding but without egg/custard. Diced buttered bread, seasoned stewed tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, onion and garlic, then baked. This is one of my ultimate comfort foods.
Love the Bloody Mary at Dawa! My DD's favorite drink on our mom/daughter trip.

I'm grateful for all the library animal programs I got to take DS to over the years. We learned about bees, reptiles, owls... all kinds of great presentations!

I'm grateful for being able to visit the National Zoo on a family trip to DC several years ago 🐼

I'm grateful for the dedicated people who take care of injured animals who couldn't survive in the wild.

Happy HUMP Day Folks!

#1 - ANIMAL KINGDOM WDW - It’s not my favorite WDW park, but I do enjoy it. My DD22 is not a fan of this park, so we don’t spend much time there. My DH and I are going to do a WDW trip in a few years where we stay at AKL with a savanna view and only go to AK park and do some tours. I’m looking forward to that.

#2 - THE IRWIN FAMILY - I loved watching The Crocodile Hunter with DD27 when she was little. Steve Irwin was awesome. I now enjoy watching his family and love how they keep his legacy going, and are continuing his mission of conservation. Going to Australia Zoo is a huge dream of mine to go see one day.

#3 - SECRETS OF THE ZOO TV SHOWS - My DH and I loved watching these shows. We really learned a lot about what goes on behind the scenes of zoos - it’s amazing (on Disney+ or Animal Planet). There’s one about AK on Disney+ too which is incredibly good. I highly recommend these shows

Animal Kingdom- My favorite Disney park. I ALWAYS go to AK... I'll skip one of the other parks if we don't have 4 day tickets or park hoppers. I love Animal Kingdom!

Giraffes- my very favorite animal

Cats- We are cat sitting right now (it was supposed to be for a few weeks and it's been 7+ months) and it's made me realize how much I miss Potter and Weasley, our sweet boys. They were brothers and we had them for 17 and 20 years, respectively. 🐈‍⬛🐈🩷

Houston Zoo - Grateful for the years where we were members and I could go whenever I wanted. It was so neat to really get to learn specific animals and get to meet the various keepers and volunteers over time with greater insights.

Nature all around me - I love that we have so many animals living in the forests around us. No, it's not like being in a national park or something like that, but it's always amazing to be surprised with what's living not too far from my doorstep.

Lions - I love them. Not sure what else to say. I feel like they are my spirit animal sometimes.
