when do concierge cm's call

Hi,
My family is staying at GF concierge for the first time. How many days prior to your trip does the staff call you to help makes reservations for things like dinners etc...
I'm just wondering if I should make them myself.

I'd suggest you better make them yourself. It is really hit or miss whether they call or not. We've stayed concierge on seven trips so far and got called for two of them, and one time got a packet in the mail. The other four never got anything. Going this November (ist week) and haven't gotten anything yet (either phone or mail).

I've been called in advance by the AKL, Poly, BWI and YC concierge. The GF concierge didn't call in advance, and were about as helpful as a hole in the head while we were there. They acted like we were totally putting them out by even staying there. Never again.

If I were you I wouldn't wait for them to call. It seems like the majority of people on this board who stay concierge at the GF do not get calle din advance. In their defense, if a TA makes the reservation, it's possible theconcierge doesn't have your info, and that the TA doesn't bother to pass along anything sent to them.

We just stayed Poly concierge and they never called us. What they did do was send us a kind of questionaire about 6 weeks before our trip. We requested dinner priority seating for a couple of nights, whcih they made for us. While we were there we decided a couple of hours before our confirmed dinner time that we wanted to eat an hour later and concierge made the change on the spot. Any other dinner seatings we made ourslelves as we have done for years and did not have any prpblems at all.

We stayed in GF concierge in July. They should be calling about 45 days out. If you're past that time period, I would definately give them a call. Here is the number for GF pre-planning, 407-824-1775. Or you can fax all your requests to them at 407-824-3461. I really think it does make a difference if you book ps through concierge as opposed to doing it yourself. For instance, we got the first table at the first seating of CRT's princess breakfast and booked that at 30 days out. I noticed when the hostess pulled up our reservation, it stated that we were VIP's in the comment section. If you know basically what you want, then send the fax and just ask them to follow up with you. For some reason, they seem to respond faster to faxes then to voice mail messages. They can even fax your itinerary back to you with all the confirmation numbers.
