For me, it was about 2:00 pm on Castaway Cay when I slipped off my tube and the way it felt sliding across my back was enough to know something bad had happened. Seems that after carefully applying sunscreen to DD and DS that morning, I was waiting on DW to come out of bathroom to do my back. Needless to say, in all the hubbub, I forgot. 
The next day was pretty uncomfortable, as was dinner that night. Of course, I'd do it all again for another day at CC!
