When did you first experience WDW?

My first experience as a kid was May 1983. I was 12, and I fell in love immediately. I went back 4 times after that, including my high school and college graduation trips, and my honeymoon in 1993.

My first experience as a parent was Feb. 2003. I saw the look in my 5 yr old DD's eyes, and fell in love all over again. We have vowed to go back every year for as long as we can.

Why do I say I have two separate first experiences? Anyone who has gone as both a child and a parent will understand. They are two very different, very unique experiences!:)

August 1984 at 16. Obsession truly began in 2001 though. :hyper:

My first WDW trip was in 1986, I was 8 yrs old. It was such a special moment. I remember feeling like I really was home and that there couldn't be a happier place on earth. Since then I have been on many vacations visiting many different locations. But none of them compare to the magical experience I get every time I am in WDW.

summer of 73 or 74 Can't remember exactly which year. I was 12 years old. I remember running out of the best tickets I think they were like E or something and having lot of A tickets left over.

The first year WDW opened - 1971, then again in 1979 and it took a LONG time to get back: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and every year for the rest of my life I hope!

July 1972...I was 10. My father was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Miami Beach and my mother said the only way she would go would be if we all went to Disney World first. They took out a loan and packed 5 kids (ages 4-10) in the station wagon and drove down from Maine (we didn't even have air conditioning in the car). The only vacation we had ever been on before that was staying one night in a hotel in New Hampshire when we went to Story Land and Santa's Village the year before. It took us three days to get there, spent 3 nights at Disney, 5 in Miami Beach and 3 days to get home. We had a blast and my parents would tell you this was the best family vacation we ever had (I think it's because most of my siblings slept in the car). We were lucky and got to go back in 1976.

Sept. 2000, I was thirty. It was a first for my husband too. We loved it and had so much fun with the kids. I can't wait to go again!! :jumping1:

October 1998 for us. Started planning the next trip as soon as we got back!

:D

August 1981. I was 4, almost 5. My love for Disney started at a young age, as it should. When I have a family of my own, someday, I hope to bring my kids to WDW as soon as possible, or at least when I sense that they will be able to remember their first time for a long time.

Summer 1973 - I was 8 & fell in love with Haunted Mansion - bought extra E tickets with my souvinier money for "One More Ride, Please!"

DH gave me & DS a surprise Christmas present in 1992 - a trip to WDW in Feb 1993 - The obsession began......

1977 - it was just the Magic Kingdom then. They also had a character dinner on the Empress Lily.
