When did you first experience WDW?

My very first trip was summer of 1975, I was 14 yrs old. I only remember bits and pcs of it.....Cindy's castle the most, going through the turnstills....don't know why I remember that and the paper tickets...I still have them!!! Also pictures and post cards. My parents took my brother and I along w/my cousin who is only 9 mths younger than I am and her brother that is the same age as my brother...so mom and dad had 2 girls ages 13 and 14 and 2 boys 9 yrs old. We went to Panama City Beach, FL, down to Tarapon Springs to see the sponge divers, to Clearwater and Bush Gardens, over to Disney, to Silver Springs and Cypress Gardens, to Daytona Beach (remember the cars on the beach!) and St Augustine. Awesome family memories!!

2nd trip was Labor Day weekend 2001---1 week before 9/11. Went 3 days w/6 other ladies (all travel agents). No husbands, no kids just us girls age 35 and older. Had a blast!!

3rd trip was 5/30-6/4 of 2004. Took DH on his first trip at age 49!! (CAN YOU BELIEVE?) and DDs 12, 7 and 4.

Can't wait to go back.

Karibeth19---you are so right....there is a big difference going as a child yourself vs going w/your children as an adult. Totally different "magic".

Thanks for a great thread...has been fun to remember.

November 2000, I was 40. I feel I missed so much by not going earlier. My husband wanted to go on our honeymoon in 1984, but I said wait until we have kids.

May 2002...when DH and I were 42 and DS was 6. Sure, it would've been great to have experienced WDW as a child, but it's hard to imagine topping the joy we've felt as adults watching our DS delight in WDW---plenty of happiness for us there, too!

On behalf of my 10 mo. old daughter - Friday, September 17, 2004 with my mom and dad!! :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

In 1973 - on our honeymoon!

A couple of kids and all of these years (and three more theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, many resorts, etc.) later, it's still my favorite place in the world!

August 1979. I was 4.

Went again in '86 and '92, but haven't been back since then. Now I have a daughter and we're taking her (along with my parents and sister) to WDW for her second birthday next week. I'm excited for me AND for her :D

I'm thinking 1984, but I may have went earlier like in 82 but I can't remeber the exact date. I remeber donkey kong was new LOL.

My first trip was in March, 1980. I was 16 and it was shortly after my father sold his business. It was our first family vacation of more than 4 days and the first time any of us had been on an airplane!

September 2000 ( for my 21st birthday)!

November 1980 - for our honeymoon.

The place has changed a little bit in 24 years... :-)

I will be going there for the first time on Sept. 20th 2004. I am 35 years old and it has always been my dream to go there. I can remember begging my parents to go and they did have the money to go but refused to. I have always had that as my top dream and now I will experience it with my family-huband, two daughters and two sons. We are also going to be on the Disney Cruise the following week so this is our trip of a lifetime. I'm just glad that my kids will not have to wonder what it is like to go there because I am fulfilling their dreams now.

August 1986 with our three kids...I was 31 years old then. I always wanted to go as a kid too, but my parents never took us and they went for the first time as empty nesters after we left home....:sunny:
