When did OKW sell out originally?

I was talking to two different DVC members on two different occasions during our last trip and was told that I couldn't have bought my points from Disney because OKW either sold out 8 (second guy) or 7 (first lady) years ago. I know I bought from Disney in January, l997, but am now wondering if I puchased reclaimed inventory. Not a big deal but I do like to know what I'm talking about and the first lady did kind of get on my nerves telling me what I couldn't have done when I do believe I was there and she was not.

We bought at OKW (through DVC) in 1999 but don't know the exact sell out date.

I think it was still available when I first stayed there as a non-member in March 1999 but was sold out by the time I bought BWV in September 1999.

I think OKW sold out originally in 1997 and then reopened sales once buildings 62-64 were completed. Originally, sales of these new buildings was available only to existing members, but they eventually sold to new members also. Because these buildings occupy the land formerly used for the sales office, there were no models available and all tours were conducted at the BW preview office.

It sold out again in fall, 1999- at about the same time as BWV.

I believe OKW actually sold out in February or March of 1998. We bought there in December 1997. Originally we went to the presentation just to look, but when we heard that OKW was that near a sell-out we bought right away. We definitely wanted OKW as our home resort and didn't want to risk losing out on the ability to buy there directly from Disney.

We purchased our original contract in 4/97. If I recall, they started sending out the "selling out soon" letters in late 1997. I believe we signed papers for our "we better buy more" add-on contract in January, 1998.

When I took my tour on December 3rd, 1998, OKW was already sold out. From the way they spoke, I got the impression is had very recently sold out. That was before they built the new buildings.

The new buildings at OKW did not sell out until after August 2000. We bought direct from Disney in August 2000 and they went a few more months after that before selling out the new buildings. BWV sold out at pretty close to the same time--they were still available as of August 2000 for sure.

In my rough DVC history, I show OKW as selling out in 1998 but I haven't got a specific month. I also show DVC sending out a letter in October 1999 warning that OKW was again approaching sell-out.

OKW sold out the 1st time in Feb. 1998. We were keeping close tabs on the sell out date and bought in Feb 1998 a few days before there were no more points to be had.....until the new buildings were built....spruce

I bought directly though DVC at OKW in Oct 2000. I was told that when the new builcings were put up they were allowed to re-open sales of OKW. A friend of mine purchased add on points even later than this. If anyone is truly interested in buying at OKW and wants to buy through Disney I think they should call memeber services. Perhaps Disney might have some points for sale that they bought back themselves.

We bought 7/2000 Deed says 64E (I believe this was the newer buildings) Use year Feb and in April 2002 we did an add on for another Feb Use Year at OKW.
