When did Free Dining become Avail for 8/06?

Anyone remember when Free Dining plan became available to book for August 2006? Does anyone remember if you were able to "switch" an already booked package or did you have to rebook? Thanks

I believe it was around the first week of April 06. Our TA had us on a room only reservation at the time and then when the package came out she had to cancel that one and book us under the package deal. We had to put the $200.00 down for the package and then Disney refunded us the deposit we had down on the room only reservation.

HI there,

The free DDP was offered to Disney Visa Holders the first of April 2006. They had first crack at it and then it was open to the general public a few days later.

April 1 for Disney Visa holders; April 4 to the general public (which was the same day bookings for the 2007 Mediterranean cruises opened )

Would it be better to book a room only or a package for this time period if I wanted to switch it to a free dining package? If I already have a package with dining would that be easier than just a room only or room/tix package?
