When are tickets going up?

Mousesavers is saying it's this Sunday, along with about every where else I read- they're rarely all wrong. If I needed tickets, I'd buy them now. It's not like the increase is going to be huge- but no sense in throwing money away either.

The most up to date rumor is that the prices are going up on Sunday, Feb. 22nd. Of course only Disney knows and the CM's would be informed today most likely. I may get blasted, but reality is that they are only going up $5. If you know you need tickets and have the $$ set aside, go ahead and get them now. If not, a few dollars in savings should not make you panic and spend $$ you don't have or force a decision. The bigger rumor floating around its that they finally decided to eliminate the non-exp tickets. Now that is a biggie. We bought 10 day non-exp tix last week with the intention of using them a couple of years from now using Disney points so for us it was not a cost issue and locked in potential savings for future trips.

While the MK price is nuts, What is more insane is the one-day price for the other 3 parks.

bought a Uni power pass for a bit over $200 (before tax). I think the biggest issue with the power pass is it does not include parking. The blackout dates don't concern me, wasn't planning to go at Easter, in the summer or Xmas.

i would love to know the % of people who buy 1 day park tickets? my guess is non FL its super low........people who are coming outside the state are most likely going to be there for more then 1 day....and the price per day drops off big time over 3 days......

I think a lot of out of state people just go for a day when they happen to be within a couple hours of Orlando for something else. They think "oh let's go to Disney!" and then go to MK for the day and are done.

I don't know % or anything, but I'm surprised how often I have friends tell me they are going to go to Disney for a day because they'll be in florida for something else.

It is high, but not out of line with the area. And the fact is, they have no incentive to make their single day tickets reasonable. Not that many people come for a single day and when you take the per day cost of a ticket for 5 days, it's not an outrageous per day cost. That's why you see the big break in price at 5 days. I'm betting the data shows them most people have a week for a vacation. If they can tie up 5 of those, they pretty much have all your vacation dollars. Disney has shown people a way to stay longer for "less". It really is smart marketing.

After reading threads like this one, I ordered my ticket for next Nov. from UCT. I'm beating the price increase, whenever it happens, plus I'm getting a 5 day ticket for the price of a 4 day, and the discount that UCT gives. I figured it was a no brainer. I was notified yesterday that it is in the mail.

Act soon, prices are definitely going up this Sunday.

While I don't doubt that this is likely true, I would like to know your source.

I heard it on my local news earlier this evening. I don't know my station's source. But definitely over $100 pre-tax, at least for MK.

While the MK price is nuts, What is more insane is the one-day price for the other 3 parks.

To me, a single day ticket for MK is worth the hundred bucks. But I agree about the other parks, not even close to being worth the one-day price. $60 seems to be about right for those.

I too have always wondered about the percentage of guests who buy one-day tickets. For MK, my wild guess is 10%.
Epcot maybe 5%. HS and MK, practically zero.

I expected to find a 10 page thread about the price increase. Maybe it's not true, or it hasn't been widely announced yet.

Yes I can't wait to see the people crying about a price increase and how awful and evil disney is I love to laugh at those people i wish they would raise prices even more and give some back to the cast members.

Actually, it's a nice change of pace not to see too many complaints. Hope it stays that way!

Glad I already got all our tickets purchased for Sept, (including the Water Parks and PH, our first time for those)

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm sure I'll be curious enough to calculate the difference with the ticket price increase...

We need AP's, not single day tickets. Looks like I'm making a purchase today.

I agree, I would pay the $100 for one day at MK. Still worth it to us.

I would pay about $50-60 for the other three parks.
