Does anyone kow if Vero is wheelchair accessible? We have a disabled 9 year old and would love to take her to the ocean! We have done a DCL Cruise and they supplied beach wheelchairs... do they have these @ Vero too?

When I asked last year at the front desk, I was told that there is a beach wheelchair. Call ahead and they will "get it out." Now, it turns out that the person I was asking for changed her mind about going to VB, so I don't know the exact details.

One of the reasons we go to Vero a lot is because it is easy to take my mom along. She can walk around inside the house but not long distances. But in May we are taking my sister in law who is totally wheelchair bound. We have used the beach wheelchair and it is just like the ones on the Disney cruise. There are ramps everywhere and there are handicapped accessible rooms. The pool even has a special transfer stair thing for people in wheelchairs. Their are lots of sidewalks everywhere and even though we didn't use a handicapped accessible room, they provided a shower chair. There are bathrooms at the pool area. There is a ramp all the way down to the beach and there are elevators to all the condos. The 3 bedroom beach cottages are the only ones not handicapped accessible. I'd go for it. We usually fly into Melbourne but are flying into Orlando with my sister in law and renting a wheelchair mini van. I think you and your daugher will love it. There is also a tunnel under the highway to the wooded/lake/basketball area that a wheelchair can go on easily. Everytime we've been there which is about 8 or 9 times, we have always seen someone else in a wheelchair besides my mom.

Don't know if she would be interested by my nieces who were 8 and 6 last year, loved doing all of the arts and crafts that they had in a room by the pool. They made jewelry, decorated aprons and umbrellas, did sand art and went to the unbirthday party. Moms were allowed to go and help if they wanted. There is a place to get your hair braided etc. around the pool. The restaurants are easy to get into.
