What's your Oct-Nov car rental rate?

Historically, we've never paid much more than $100-$120 +/- for a one week rental during f&W. That's usually a base rate of just over $100, discounts and coupons reduce that, taxes add to it, and the net ends up being not more than $125. This year, I've tried a few times, and so far the lowest I've gotten is a base of $158, total with taxes and fees about $180. I usually look at intermediate or full size. This year we need a 9 day rental, unless we decide to ME and pick up the car so that it doesn't go over a week. But what about everyone else? Have you found that rental rates are higher for next fall?
I know last year they came down closer to the date, but I had such good rates from booking in Jan and march that I never needed to watch it too much after that.

:) last year i paid 196 for a standard suv at national in april for 7 days. this year we are going in oct for 8 days and i just booked alamo at 228. i'm hoping for some decrease as it gets closer!! :)

We haven't booked yet. I've been looking at National for over 2 months, and the lowest I've gotten so far is $197.13 for 8 days in Nov with a coupon (includes extra time and taxes). I'm waiting till it drops lower. We paid $154 last July for 10 days. I doubt we'll be able to beat that.

$215 at National using an ES rate code from Mousesavers for a 5-day rental on an 8-person minivan from 11/23/11/27. Will keep an eye out for cheaper base rates and more coupons...
