I always hated my middle name, both the sisters had beautiful names and I got stuck with :

My middle name combined with my first is so "hick" that I absolutely forbid anyone from using them in the same breath.

I'm a twin and my mom thought it would be "cute" to have me and my sister have rhyming names.

Why do parents do that?

My middle name is Anne. My grandmother's name was Annie. My mom wanted to use it but it didn't sound right with my first name. I would like to use Annie for one of my children - Annie Mae. That was my grandmother's name.

I'm really happy that my mom waited until she had my sister to inflict her own middle name onto someone. My little sister's middle name is Roberta and she got teased relentlessly.

I find it interesting that people changed their middle name to their maiden name when they got married. I have decided to add mine to my middle name so I will have two middle names - Anne Sampson.

My DFi has a mouthful for a middle name and I hate it. His middle name is Allan Osborne.

Mine is LeAnne...no significance that I'm aware of. Just don't like it much when combined with my first name (Jaimee). A person should only be allowed to have so many "e's" in their name

I have two middle names as well. One is the one my mother gave me and the other is her maiden name. I had to go to court to legally add my mother's maiden name to mine. I dropped my maiden name like a cold potato, couldn't wait to get rid of that one! I never did think it was fair that I had to carry a surname of a man and family who opted to have nothing to do with me.

Since one is my mother's maiden name, I don't think posting it would be too wise either.

For the other people with 4 names, 2 middle. How do you fill out forms that only allow you one middle initial? I usually go by my first middle name. So even though I am WXYZ...I may use WXZ on forms....make sense?

I've always just used the first one--and if they have space for the middle name--I will have them put both if it fits or the initials of both if the complete names don't fit. I do what you do (and yes it makes sense).

It's funny--my hubby thinks this is some traumatic thing and doesn't want our kids to have 2 middles b/c of the complications. I've never thought twice about it.

I didn't get one at birth, but, chose Carol for Confirmation, so I go by Patricia Carol. Neither of my brothers or sister had one either until Confirmation. My Mom doesn't have one. My daughter chose Christina for Confirmation, so she uses that. DS's is Joseph and DH's is John. My Dad's is also John.

I usually adamantly refuse to tell anyone, and I mean anyone my middle name, my SO and I were together for YEARS before I told him, but since I don't have to see any of you face to face....I have THREE. Alishia (pronounced like Alicia) Etta Ann Marie and my last name has 12 letters in it! Was my mom mean? Not really, just trying to please everyone. My dad wanted me named after his mother "Henrietta", my DGM wanted me named after a saint "Marie", and my mom liked Ann, she was confused and wrote them all down.

DD's is Anne, after my GodMother.

My middle name is Marcel...named after my aunt who was named after my grandparents neighbor when they lived in N.M. I like it since it is different. The wierd thing is my aunt and I look ALOT alike...in fact some of the people she went to school with think I'm her!

Mine is Deniene. It was the name of my mom's imaginary friend when she was a little girl. She wanted to make it my first name but my dad said no.
