What's your favorite tan paint (for inside house)?

NUTS! I thought the original title was "What is your favorite taunt" and I was hoping to get some good ammo.

Benjamin Moore Sherwood Tan, I love it, kind of mocha.

Thank you! That is just the kind of tan I'm looking for! Now is that color true, or is it lighter then the picture shows? It's looks pretty light at SW online.

I think it appears lighter in my picture than it actually is.
My designer told me not to freak when we started to put the first coat on, that I might think it was really dark, and to just trust him. He said wait until you get the second coat on. You know what? He was right on. DH and I both kinda freaked once we put the tan over white. It looked SO dark to us, but we just kept going and once the entire area was done with the second coat, we were in love with it.
Now 2 years later, I am still loving this color and have gotten so many compliments on it.

I just looked up Practical beige on the SW website. That doesn't look anything like my walls. Weird. I'm positive about the color name.
Did you try their color visualizer where you can actually paint a room with a specific color?

The inside of our house is Cameo Cream (SW1905) by Sherwin Williams.

The light really does make a difference. We have a tan in our dining area (that has large windows and french doors) that I liked, so I decided to put the same color in the living room. It came out totally brown, so I had to go waaay lighter.

I'm always embarassed to tell the names of my paint colors. We used Kelly Moore "oyster" and "clam chowder!" The names make me want to gag, but I like the colors.

If I had walls in "clam chowder", I would be licking my walls all day long!
The same with walls in "tiramisu"!

We're big fans of Benjamin Moore Historical And Americana colors - I have shaker Beige in my master and Yosemite Sand in my kitchen. they are very close to each other, both very colonial, warm tans. The "color ladies" at the Benjamin Moore store have been very helpful to us in the past - helped me pick a very difficult blue for my living room (Black Pepper) and green for my TV room.
Good Luck!:)

Yes, I am digging up an old thread....sorry. ;)

I have a painter coming to our house next week, and I want to get at least two bathrooms painted. I am looking at a tan/beige color but I need help! I don't want anything with pink or green or gray undertones. I also want my daughter's room painted brown and pink.

I have a Sherwin Williams store by my home, so I'd like to get the paint there.

Any pics or suggestions?? I like the Practical Tan, but it may be too light...I am completely struggling with the brown color. All of the swatches look SO dark, and her room isn't very big to begin with.

Thanks friends!!!

Thanks everyone, I'm going to check out those Behr paints. I'm kinda going for that "model home" universal tan. My dh thinks I'm nuts, and is frustrated with the whole darn thing.

If you find any article or picture or anything, most paint stores can match it exactly.

I have toasted almond, it's a Behr color from Home Depot :)

Sherwin Williams "khaki shade". Make them look on the old color chart from a few years ago if they've changed the name slightly; I think they did last year. Perfect color, I love it!

When we built last year we had them paint the house Sherwin Williams Latte and everyone that has come to our house (LOTS of people) has complemented the paint color. It's really the perfect beige we found.

I was looking at that color, but it seemed a bit dark for a bathroom. What do you think? Do you have any pics?

Pretty much the entire inside of my house is done in Hazelnut Cream from WalMart's ColorPlace line.

Here's some pictures from when we had first moved in last summer:

In the kitchen (ignore the mess)

We love it - its very neutral, and goes with everything.

When we gutted our whole main floor and remodeled, I had a designer help me with paint colors. I was burnt out by then from choosing things and needed help.
This tan is Sherwin Williams Practical Beige. I have it in my Great room and hall and I continued it in my master bath. It's a really warm color.

Do you mind if I ask how much it cost to hire a decorator? I am terrible at colors. I don't even pick my own wardrobe--DH buys my good clothes because I just can't seem to "see" them. I'm not color blind, just inept. I haven't painted my house in about 10 years and it's beyond time!

Every time I have used a decorator it hasn't cost anything since her "fee" has been applied to purchases I have made. If they just come out and suggest colors, furniture placement, etc. the fee would be about $100-200 for a couple hours of help. I think it is worth EVERY penny because a couple wasted cans of paint costs as much :lmao:.

Our whole house was painted 'Vanilla Brandy' by Olympic when we bought it... we wanted a tan living room to begin with, so we were glad for the tan they chose... we LOVE it!

Some rooms we have changed, but the living room remains tan...

How did you find your decorator? Just call up Home Depot?

We have Shaker Beige in our master too! I love it.
