I guess I have really bad luck with souvenirs. We bought 6 (one for each of us) refillable mugs at ASMu, but only ever used 4 of them. Got home, and now since we gave some away and lost 2, I use one of the "new" ones. It leaks. The lid apparently allows coffee to seep through. I found out the first day I used it, in my brand new WHITE student nurse uniform on the way to clinicals.
I got a necklace for myself (not a pricey one) and it broke about 2 weeks later. So I fixed it. It broke in another spot within the week. Told you, BAD luck with WDW souvenirs!
Then, DS picked, for his souvenir, the die-cast monorail one visit. It broke (2 cars broke apart and cannot be put back together). The next trip, he was torn between the EPCOT ball play set and the Tree of Life playset. He got the Tree of Life one. I won't go into details, but several parts of it are broken already. (Both of these trips were in the past 6 mos). I am sad for him, especially about the monorail which lasted less than a week. BTW, my kids VERY rarely break toys. Can count on one hand how many toys have broken in our house (4 kids, 12 and under now). We just seem to not do so well with WDW toys!
Worst part is, all DS wants for Xmas is the Epcot ball playset. I am doing an adults trip with stepmom right before Xmas and want to get that for him. But it's a lot of money to end up the same way as the tree of life one! Anyone have it? Did it hold up?
My favorite thing to buy is a can of Mickey coffee. The lid cracked (

True, mind you) but now I still keep refilling it with whatever coffee I buy that month from my grocery store. That way, when I make coffee in the morning, I only see the WDW coffee can. Makes me happy. Cracked lid and all.
We got Xmas tree ornaments. Since every year I let each kid pick an ornament, we decded to do it early...at DTD. Can't wait to put up the tree this year! Always wanted a Mickey toaster, but the one online says it is made with something known to cause cancer and birth defects. Anyone know if that is different from other toasters, or did I just never notice that toasters are cancer-causing?
