I found cheap airfare on SW today so hubby said "book it". Yeah!!

I got a AAA rate of $183.20/night at RPR. from 5/4-5/9.

I'm hoping the rate drops down a bit more. I really wanted to try club this time but it was $263/night with the AAA and that was more than I was planning on spending. Oh well, maybe another time.

when you are a member, you received certain amenities when you stay at ANY loews hotel. 3 levels blue/gold/platinum depending on how many nights you stay a year, determines the level/color of your card.

AAA: auto club for the chgo area it is $54 a year for membership. rates vary based on location of where you live. loews hotels give a 10-15% discount off of rooms, 10% off of food at the park and city walk, also includes the merch and ticket discount. you also use the AAA for car service and hotel discounts across america

ap: aph/annual pass you can buy a pass that allows you to the parks everyday. its like pre paying for admission but lots cheaper if you go more than 6 times. discounts are given on hotels, food, merch and tickets. free parking also

Where else can you get discounts (other then the hotel rate) using you can at universal? Is there somewhere you can find a list of these places? thanks

When we were last there in 2003, we got a discount, 10% I think, on all our food purchases and gift shops in the parks. I'll have to dig around for my AAA brochure to see what it says for current discounts.

i called this morning to see if AAA rates for oct have changed yet.
my rate is 183.20/night

i was told to call back 4 weeks prior to my trip to see if they drop.
also told, if i have the aph, i would get a better discount in oct.

right now the AAA rate is better than the APH for oct 6-7-8-9
(ap is 203.night)


employee told me that the aph rate for rph usually drops to 149/night for my ressie period based on how many empty rooms they have left. the rates would be noticed in early september.

i already order tickets/pass so not sure if it would be really to my advantage to buy the aph now.

just wanted to give a heads up for anyone with the aph that rates will be better in the fall than what is advertised right now for rph

we check in sun. check out fri. for you hhn fans thats 3 nights of

i wouldn't risk it and wait to then to book.
2 years ago a friend wanted to join me and get a room at hrh.
they called aug 31 and no rooms available on the second weekend of oct.

by luck, they got a room at rph but only for 2 nights.

i called rph with a question today and was told they are full on the third weekend sat, sun already for oct. now if this is valid or not, i don't know.

i have received incorrect info before when i have called.

i go the weekend before columbus day and check out on columbus day or the day after. depends on when i get the best flight. i already booked but can add a day if i do it soon. reason i called today to inquire about modifying my ressie.

last year hrh was full on the second weekend. the ones that checked in later on the 5th, once the hotel was full, was sent somewhere else for the night.

Do you think if I call back 4 weeks before my trip my AAA rate of $458.10/night(kid's suite) might drop with an APH rate or is this as good as it gets? BTW we're going May 27- May 29.
