whats your bizarre ride story?

Stuck in the Haunted Mansion!
For about 10 minutes, stuck at the ending where you look into the mirror and see the ghost in the reflection!
Needless to say, it was kinda scary:D

When I was about 8 years old, my mom and I had gone with my sister to Catholic schools day at DL. We had a great time as big sis went off with her friends and mom and I hung out together, but we got stuck for what seemed like forever on POC. It was at the part where the ship is bombing the town and vice versa. Bam, splash, bam, splash.............. Everytime for years after that, I would hold my breath at that part hoping we would not get stuck. The cool thing was, that eventually our boat was rerouted out a side exit and we walked through the backstage area back to the front of the line and started our ride over. It was neat seeing behind the scenes even for an 8 year old. Some day as a grown up I'm going to take mom to WDW and go on the tour of the MK.

Also got stuck last June on JIYM, twice in fact. The first time, the cars stopped for a couple of moments and the sound stopped. Then the cars started going but no sound. Finished the ride with nothing happening but the lights were down. Decided to try again later but as we were riding along, the cars stopped for a moment again. DD says, oh this is not a good thing! Sure enough, the ride started up again and all seemed normal, but in the next area, stopped again. Sat there for several minutes, all the lights came up and eventually a group of CMs came and sort of caravanned everyone out of there.

This isn't my story, it's a friend's. He says he was evacuated from Test Track last year and had to walk through the scene where you nearly get hit by the truck. He looked into the truck and noticed that the driver is Lyndon Johnson.

I had two experiences. My first was on the Peter Pan ride. This was back in 1975 when they had the ticket books..remember those? Well anyway, the ride stopped for about 10 minutes. We were at the point where our ship was flying downward...Its a real sharp decline...It was kind of scary at first ( I was 10 then) but afterward I wasn't scared. They gave us free ticket passes afterwards.

Another was on Space Mountain. I went with a friend in 1984. Just as our rocket was starting takeoff, a supervisor was jumping out of his rocket( he had just finished his ride) and shouting to some other worker, " I want to know who was responsible for this and I want the info in 5 minutes..." I looked at my friend and we both said, "OHHHHHH NOOOO'".

We were also stuck on Ellen's Energy Ride, near the end of the dinosaur era. We finally had to be pulled out because they couldn't get the ride going !!! :p

In 2001, we got stuck on TOT at the part where the stars are viasble in the elevator. Except the stars never came. We just sat and sat and sat. We were in complete darkness for about8 minutes. I started to get really nervous. Luckly the lights came on before I had a meltdown (I'm not good with darkness). We sat for another 8-10 minutes and the ride just continued as normal. I felt bad for the people who had never been on it before, they probably thought (at least the all dark part) was part of the ride. How boring!

I was on Mr. Toad in the late 80s when the ride stopped. A young man in the car infront of us jumped out (early highschool age). He walked away from the car and did some snooping around the room we were in (both doors open). The announcement was made and the cars started again (oddly fast). His car entered the next room and was gone. He ran to our car, but we were full.

When the ride ended we waited several minutes to see what would happer.

The boy came out several minutes later riding in a car with a native African family of two kids. LOL ROF.

I guess the cast members have different ways of getting back at the rule breakers!!! :)

We got stuck quite a few times last march....

Ellen's Energy was stopped because someone jumped out of their seat...

While we were on test track (the really fast part) the breaks started squealing and smoke and the smell of burning rubber were everywhere and then the car stopped. After about 10 minutes a guy walked out onto the track and walked us back to the beginning where they put us in a new car....BUT...right as we get to the seat belt check, a girl runs up and say's that we've been taken out of one broken car and put into another broken one, so we get out again and try another car. Finally we make it all the way through the ride and my mother who I thought would be freaked out by this time, laughed harder than anybody. ..

Also on Buzz, the car my sister and I were in wouldn't close. We had never ridden it before and didn't know what was going to happen (spinning or what) so we spent the ride trying to hold our car closed for dear life, very scary...

Toatlly forgot about it, but on that same trip I also got stuck on Spaceship Earth. Just at the cinema part. I saw all the clips over and over and over. We eventually got moving again though, although I was kinda' hoping we'd have to walk through a backstage area. It'd be fascinating to see. :)

4 breakdowns in one trip. I wonder what the record is? Hmmmmmmm ................... can anyone beat that? ;)

Ona ;)

Odd Space Mountain story: On one trip, we got stopped just after loading where it says "60 seconds to blast off". During the 15 minutes with the lights up (which we couldn't see anything), we talked with a CM about why Space Mountain seems to break down so much. He said that the tracks have sensors which are so sensitive that if anything touches them like a baseball cap or scarf, the sensors are tripped and the ride stops. The delay always takes about 15 minutes while they let the other cars go down and re-set the ride. Since we were the first to go down once it was up and running and the grease in the tires had cooled down, he said that the ride is about 10 seconds slower than usual until the wheel lubrication is properly heated up.

Next trip Space Mountain: On an E-night, my DW decided not to ride, so she walked through with me. As I was about 2 minutes from boarding, we noticed a large man getting in a front seat with an Indiana Jones hat resting on his lap. We said, "I'll bet he will drop that hat, trip the sensors and close the ride." Sure enough, as I sat down, right before they locked the lap bar, the lights came on and they announced a temporary closure. So I hopped out to catch up with DW.

We were stuck once on COP. We sat through the same scence at least 5 times. I think people were getting ready to find a way out if we didn't move soon!! Also, we had a PS for Tony's and barely made it!

The other time was last July we were stuck on Spaceship Earth. We sat for a long time, and every once in a while the recording would come on about the ride starting any minute. Eventually the lights came on and they announced we should wait until a cast member came by our car to escort us off. They came by car by car and had people line up and walk down the side platform (took some neat pictures of the scenes!) until we got to an exit door. The inside was just concrete and steps, nothing exciting.
I'm just glad we weren't on the part where you are going down backwards, that would have freaked me out!!

Can't honestly say we've ever been "stuck" on any ride, but several years ago, we were among the first riders on Spaceship Earth. When we reached the very top, where you are looking back at the Earth, all the lights were on.

It took away that awesome feeling you normally get at that moment, but it was kinda interesting to see all the super-structure.

Let's see.... we got stuck on Splash Mountain on the hill going up to the last drop for about 20 minutes... we have also gotten stuck where all of the water cascades over into the logs as you enter the Zip a Dee Do Dah room--- talk about soaked... and it was at night!

We got stuck twice on Buzz Lightyear and all of the lights went out... we were in the room with the red laser beams... it was pretty freaky.

We were in line for RnR, in the room where you board, when the magnetic propulsion system went out. The car was thrust forward, but instead of continuing it slowed to a complete stop. They had to walk the guests in the car out. We all got FP's for later in the day.

We have been stuck on Peter Pans flight right over The Indians and Tiger Lily for about 10 minutes.

Thank goodness I have never been stuck on Small World, the Yo Ho room in Pirates or Horizons ... I don't think I could take Small World, Yo Ho..., or "It's a Big Bright Beautiful Tomorrow" over and over!

When we got stuck on Its a small world years ago -- could have been 15 minutes or 3 days -- my father-in-law mentioned how he longed for his rifle.

It would have been shots from the bell tower for all those sweet international kiddies!!!
