To answer the Would you let your 5 year old......and so on. No I wouldn't let my 5-year-old dress like Britney Spears. But also, I wouldn't let my 5-year-old watch Britney Spears on MTV(Their motto: If you squint, it's soft-core porn!). And MTV is about the only place where 5 year olds have exposure to Britney.
It all boils down to parental responsibility, and if I had a 5-year-old she would not be watching Britney Spears period. The media can not be forced to babysit a young child, along with entertaining the more adult tastes of teenagers and adults. The media has done an excellent job in providing entertainment for children, with nickelodeon and cartoon network, and if a child is watching MTV for Britney, then the child needs to be supervised better, because if she's watching MTV for Britney, she's also going to catch alot worse material.
Guys like the way she looks, think about it guys do u like her personality or her body?
Yes, I like her for her personality, because I have had many in-depth conversations with her and I enjoy her political views on NAFTA and the Alaskan Oil Reserves. Obviously I like her for her body. But lets not get hypocritical here. Every few posts I read something about how the Nsync guys or O-Town guys are so hot. Is this a physical attraction or because of their personalities? And if you say that it is because you read in some magazine about how nice they are, thats nothing but the media pushing out the image that will help the bands sell more music. NEXT!
Because she is in the spotlight, she has to act like she is Mother Theresa? Yeah, she isn't a good role model, but at least she isn't faking it and trying to be a good role model. Look at all the people in the public eye, and tell me if they're better or worse than Britney. Most will be seen as worse. But because Britney is a teenage girl who sings pop music, she immediately becomes a role model for the little girls around the globe. And she can't act like a normal 19 year old because of this. I want you to go to a college campus party where there are attractive 19 year old girls, and tell me if you'd like any of them to be a role model. Little girls should not be emulating the every step of teenage and early-twenties girls. Heck, they're half the reason I'm going to college.
