Which brings us back to the point if they had dropped 1.5 billion on attractions at the parks the new 3 or 4 attractions in each park would distract us while EE was being fixed.

But they are building new attractions. Problem is it won't matter what they build to some people. New Fantasyland was built while MM+ was rolling out. And VGF. But people (on here) don't like NFL because it took too long, doesn't have a thrill ride (in a land aimed at 3 year olds...) and Little Mermaid is just a cheap copy, and BoG's food sucks and is overpriced (and impossible to get a reservation for.)
Avatarland is being developed. But not fast enough. And it shouldn't even BE Avatarland, it should be Star Wars instead, or Beastly kingdom, or Lord of the Rings, or Cedar Point.
Star Wars land will mostly likely be built in HS. And when it is done, I wonder what people will have to complain about... probably not enough DVC hotels to suit their needs. Seriously.
Where is this "I hope Disney fails" crowd...other than your imagination? I'm not aware of anyone who things that every Universal gain gleefully means a Disney defeat. You're just making stuff up as you go along. I think the VAST majority are voicing their complaints because they do want and expect more from Disney. I have annual passes to Disney, Universal and Seaword. My Disney pass was about $500...more than double the Universal pass and about 10X what I paid for the SeaWorld one. I think I should be able to expect a little more from them and believe me, I do not want them to fail at anything because that just means less for me to enjoy.
You probably haven't seen any of these comments and ironically, if you did, they pretty much contract your own viewpoint because none of these "quotes" you have here reflect the view of someone who wants Disney to fail...they reflect views of someone who expects more.
Look, I don't mean to be patronizing...I really don't. I hate when people do this, honestly. And you might have just gotten a new name and have been a long-time member for all I know. But I've been, for better or worse, reading these boards for four years. Hardly a lot compared to some. But I have been involved in nearly every "What's Wrong with Disney"-type thread that comes up. Those contradictions are there. The point is that NOTHING is going to make some people happy when it comes to Disney. If they build something, it isn't good enough. Or fast enough. Then they cry if they don't build anything. They cannot win!
So now Disney doesn't have to clean the restrooms? Perhaps you should suggest they leave "self service" cleaning supplies in the bathrooms. Could save them some money. They shouldn't have to pick up trash at the Magic Kingdom either...people should pick up after themselves. It's amazing what you're willing to overlook when it comes to Disney.
Actually expectations are pretty low for them at this point. If they build something better than a Dumbo clone or a kiddie coaster, it will probably make a bunch of people happy.
Wow...I think you may have missed the point. YES, I think people should pick up their own trash. Are you kidding me right now?! I have seen several families on my last trip just leave their dirty plates on benches rather than walk the two feet to throw them out in the trash can. TWO FEET! I saw another lady not know how to operate the trash can. She could not figure out how to use it and just left her trash on the top.
I'm not saying Disney shouldn't have people cleaning the parks. But to just assume that the onus is completely on CMs when lazy entitled guests just chuck their trash on the ground is beyond ridiculous.
As for the kiddie coasters.... they are the only rides my entire family could do this last trip. We had two 70 year olds (my parents), one of whom is on and off chemo and can barely walk. We had four 30-40 somethings with varying degrees of tolerance for thrills, and three kids under the age of 10, the oldest of whom will ride anything and have no fear. Everyone enjoyed the 7DMT. My Mom can't do anything more thrilling. Everyone enjoyed Haunted Mansion and Pirates, too. So, in that sense...those that wanted more thrills would have cut half of my family out of being able to ride. That isn't what Disney was trying to do in New FantasyLand. Star Wars land will probably do that, at least for me as my tolerance for motion simulators is basically zero.
