what's the going rate in your area for dog boarding?

We pay $27 per day at a free range kennel (no cages) or $25 per day at the vet.

I think we pay $30-$35 a day for our Chessie (large dog about 90lbs). There is a pet resort near us that charges $60 a day. Now that's crazy! I've stayed in some hotels for less than that!

I know the resort you speak of, and the 60 is the absolute cheapest it goes! For their luxury kennel it's 110 a night, and that include 4 walks, 2 playtimes, a window.. and a TV. Yeah, it's all crazy. This is why I like having cats. We pay DH's friend 40 bucks and he'll come over and stay at our house for an hour or so a day to play with them and feed them. 40 bucks covers one week! He even does the litterbox lol.
