What's the Chance of DVC building the next resort on Mars?

Would you buy Villas at Mars Outpost?

  • I'd buy in a minute if they opened up VMO (Villas at Mars Outpost)

  • Nah! Mars is so last year... I think they should build on Venus instead

  • I wouldn't buy there, but I'd trade into it

  • I will sell all of my points if the open VMO

Hey, I figured it wasn't much more far-fetched than some of the other scenarios floating around here lately... :p

LOL!!!!!

Talk about speculation. I love this. I bet this become a 24 page thread and by the time it is done, most of the people are actually going to be telling others that it is really going to happen.:bounce:

Hookd,

I have an idea. Let's keep starting a bunch of goofy threads like this and maybe we can bury the "worry wort" threads.

I voted for the Mars location! The rovers are sending back great pictures, really want to see the landscape.

I would like to start the first post about transportation from this resort to the parks.:teeth:

I heard from a CM that Disney was going to build a space shuttle just for the Mars DVC. Disney itself is going to build the shuttle with its $$$, but our dues are going to cover the cost of upkeep, fuel and pilots and crew. They are anticipating dues to rise a mere $506, 832 dollars per point. Plus, DVCer's will have to pay for transportion on the shuttle.

SIgn me up, I'm not selling:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Hmmm, DVC on the red planet. I guess I'd rather they build underwater somewhere, kind of a new 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea thing (you all remember that one, not all that long aho...)

Don't be silly! Our contracts prevent them from raising our dues more than 15% in a single year! Since this is a new resort though, the dues haven't been decided yet.

I have a friend whose cousin's brother knows this girl who dated one of the imagineers. He said that this has been in the works since they started creating "Mission to Mars". The reason so many people are getting ill is that the ride actually masks the transportation vehicles that will be used when VMO opens. It will actually be another Epcot resort!

As I understand it, the Everest attraction at AKwill be the alternative re-entry point.

Hookd,

you should put a disclaimer at the top of your post

"Do not drink while reading" I almost christened the monitor with your brothers girlfriends.....

That is a great post!!!

I just hope that they dont give out refreshments on the shuttle flight. I usually bring my own water and snacks, and I would hate to see my dues money going to pay for something I don't use MYSELF!!:p :p

only if they promise to put a slide at the pool, make all the rooms a 1/2 mile from the lobby and share the bus service with Jupiter and Saturn

Didn't you hear WDWMom?!? IT IS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN. And to top it off, there will be no spell checkers at the new resort!!! :wave2:

C'mon, Shan won't you volunteer to be the first????? I need a drink as this is getting hilarious!!!!

I knew I forgot something.

The new resort will not open until 2090. Until then, dues will go up 15% every year. DVD has decide that since the new resort on Mars will benefit all DVC members they will all pay for the shuttle expenses. Of course, this is all according to the CM at MS I talked to today.

Only if I can convince both you and WDWMom to join me up there in my new villa on a lively discussion and debate on the future. Then you both are more than welcome to stay in my villa and enjoy all that Mars has to offer (including the fabulous slide they built) while I cruise back hoem to Earth in the Millennium Falcon with Han Solo.

I hate these thread were people just throw out wild ideas, without all the facts....

I just returned from WDW and A CM TOLD ME that the property on Mars which had been slated for development as VMO has already been sold to Marriott and that Disney was going to be focusing its efforts closer to home....the Moon.

I tried to press the CM, but SHE TOLD ME that this speculation about VMO was getting out of hand and that all CMs the world over had been each visited personally by Michael Eisner to make sure they understood that VMO was a dead issue. She then said, although that is true, deposits for VMO are still being accepted by Member Accounting. Go Figure.

;)

Shan, only if you have an unlimited supply of booze for us! I prefer Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade and I believe WDWMOM likes strawberry daquiris and Bud Light. That ought to get us going pretty good!!!! Oh, and make sure there is a slide at your pool, ok???
