What's the Chance of DVC building the next resort on Mars?

Would you buy Villas at Mars Outpost?

 • I'd buy in a minute if they opened up VMO (Villas at Mars Outpost)

 • Nah! Mars is so last year... I think they should build on Venus instead

 • I wouldn't buy there, but I'd trade into it

 • I will sell all of my points if the open VMO

Oh, and make sure there is a slide at your pool, ok???

Oh, they'll put a slide in for sure, but only after we get enough no votes on a poll about ten years earlier....

lensanem,

Sure I'll join you for a discussion. Only if we stick with known facts or opinions about DVC or WDW in general. I have never been known to not want to talk about WDW. I have no desire to speculate on anything unless it is about DH and I winning the lotto.

As Shelbyjosh mentioned, I would prefer to do it with a drink or two in my hand(s). Bud light, strawberry daqs, white zinfindil, oh, what the heck, I'll drink just about anything with alcohol:sunny:

new_yawka,

Are you sure about your info. The CM I talked to said she had heard about the moon property but DVD found the site not buildable. Something about not being able to put in a pool with a slide.

You lot can all laugh but this is really true.....when I was at Ecpcot two weeks ago a CM told me the reason they made Mission Space so realisitic was to give "potential purchasers" of DVC on Mars the opportunity to see if they like space and can cope with space travel. Soon there will be simulated visits to the "artist drawing " of the resort.

Also I read it on another thread so it MUST be true because someone said so on the Dis. :D

WDWMom,

I called my guide to try to clear up all of this speculation. Randy said that it's all hush, hush, but since I'm such a FANTASTIC member , he said he'd let me in on the memo they received just this afternoon.

It seems that there were too many craters on the moon, so the plan had to be scrapped. Now they're back to looking at Mars, but since SSR is selling out faster than projected, they are trying to move the completion date up 85 years. That's right! VMO should be in presales by Thanksgiving '05!

He told me to keep it hush, hush, but I know that he won't care that I shared with all my buddies here on the DIS!

Opinions?!? Do you even allow that? I thought it was all fact, fact, fact and no thought provoking conversations... Nah, I think I'll cancel the party. It appears I wodul ahve to supply alot of alcohol anyway and that woduln't even guarantee anyoen coudl take a joke. I was trying to lighten things up. Maybe you do need a drink. Seems liek you are a little irritable today...
I'm doen with this. I'm gonna go help my daughter with her homework. Maybe I can even work on my spelling whiel I'm at it! ;) :wave2:

Did anyone hear whether or not they're gonna sell refillable mugs? I better pick some up at BWV next week just in case.

Nope. Not irrable today. I'm always like this. This is my normal :sunny: disposition.

How many points for a view of the Red Dusty Crater in a 2BR?

How are they going to work the 11 month window thing...since it may take that long to get there with the stop off at the International Space Station and the moon? All of us with only a 7 month window may be stuck in Florida!

Most importantly....How much per point and what will be the pre-sale incentives?

I wanna know NOW!

How Loooooong would the hallways be?

WDWMom, was that the OKW pool slide you and Shan are going to visit after a little tipple at the bar?

thanks

Which ones. The refillable on this trip only or the refillable forever ones???

I want to fly my own shuttle, instead of using DVC transportation. How close will the runway & launch pad be to my room?

They're all refillable forever, right? I don't care what the signs say, a CM told me in 1994 that I can use them 'til I die...which reminds me, I better call the lawyer to add a provision to my will. I shell out a lot of $$$ to Disney and deserve to get my money's worth. ;)

Woo Hoo!

Just talked to our Guide, and we're on the list for an add-on at VMO! First we buy into SSR, then they schedule the MH while we're going to be there, now the chance to vacation on Mars! I love the DVC!

Minor bad news, though - they are using the teeny, tiny BWV/SSR floor plans, not the ballroom-sized OKW layout :(.

Dr Tomorrow Vacations On Mars - sounds like a 50's movie serial! ;)

LOL....with our luck, we'd end up with the "backside of Earth" view during a Terral Eclipse! :p

Well, I really wasn't suppose to tell, but I am privy to the point chart for the resort so I can update the program. I expect to release it around version 28.5 or so.

Points will be higher than both OKW and SSR, but lower than BWV, BCV, VWL. However, they're using Martian points instead of Earth points and I don't know the exact conversion rate to switch between the two. They're concerned about people speculating on daily point exchange rates and trying to make a lot of money, or worse yet, getting more vacation time due to a weak Earth Point value.

And yes, there will be grand villas, but they're going to be called grandeois villas. Earth view is the same points as standard view, but can be reserved similar to boardwalk view today. Hallways will not be real long, averaging 300 meters maximum. I won't be able to measure them accurately with my GPS until they also put 24 GPS satellites in orbit around mars. At that time I should also be able to measure all the pathways around everything. I'll leave it up to Doc to measure the room dimensions.

Darn! This might mean that Richyams won't stay there! Maybe he could rough it in one of the tiny-yet- Grandeios-Villas... :bounce:
